The organisation of students is a bit different in Europe than in the US. We don't have the student chapters and there are no "interest groups" for zoo and wildlife medicine as such in the different faculties. As you probably are aware, there is no European College for Exotic Medicine, so also on the teaching side, things are not homogeneous. Most encouraging teachers from various countries are involved in the EAZWV, and that's how we get to know about them.
For the student societies, independent of zoo medicine, there are two forms: (1) most veterinary colleges are faculties of a university and therefore the student organisations (of the vet students) are also sections of the university-wide organisations. Usually there are links on the faculty website or at least on the university homepage. (2)some veterinary universities are actually autonomous (e.g. Vienna and Hannover), and they have their autonomous student organisations, which should also be linked on their homepage.
One of the troubles reaching them, ist hat the websites are all kept in the local language, but in general the "contact" page can be found and they all know English. An option is the International Vet Student Association (www.ivsa.org), which is quite popular in Europe. However, many of the German faculties, for example, are not participating.
Hope to have helped you.
Cheers
Simon
