It is not common for a Koala to bear twins, and regrettably in this instance the Mum was struck and killed by a passing car.

Fortunately, the driver stopped, and took the mother to the local vet, not knowing she was dead,  - where it was discovered she had these twins in her pouch.

First photo: Tiny koala being fed with syringe ... sooo tiny!!

Followed by a pictorial chronology of their growth...

Subject: Round-up ready GMO fungus in our food too?

I doubt anything will be done—Monsanto owns this and other countries.

What are they doing to our food?

Please spread the word. It's your food too.

Thank you.

By Susan E Couch

First, it was crop failure due to the extreme weather we have been having.  This is a world wide problem and not just here in the US.  Some blame global warming.  Whatever the cause behind the weather issues, we may have a more severe issue at hand.  This could cause the rise of food prices to increase at a faster rate.  We also may see food shortages faster here in the US than we expected because of this.  This new cause for concern is that Round Up Ready GMO (genetically modified organism) crops may cause animal miscarriages and infertility.

Recently, GMO alfalfa and sugar beets were approved to be deregulated.  Now, for mother nature’s revenge. Researchers are claiming that a never before known organism has been found and it is proving to cause miscarriages and infertility in farm animals.  About the size of a virus, the researchers found it by using a 36,000X microscope.  What is particularly worrisome is that the organism can reproduce and it has the uncommon and rare ability to cause disease in both plants and animals.  It is found in high concentration in both the placentas of cows and pigs as well as Round Up ready corn, and soybean meal.  See letter below.  This is where the threat to our food supply comes in.

Professor Don M. Huber of Purdue University wrote of the research below.  He is also a coordinator for the USDA National Plant Disease Recovery System.  He wrote of his findings and sent an open letter to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.  He outlined the dangers, and how it was discovered.  He recommended that a moratorium be placed immediately on the sale and planting of Round Up ready.  This letter also explains who he is.  In this letter he stated:

Dear Secretary Vilsack:

A team of senior plant and animal scientists have recently brought to my attention the discovery of an electron microscopic pathogen that appears to significantly impact the health of plants, animals, and probably human beings. Based on a review of the data, it is widespread, very serious, and is in much higher concentrations in Roundup Ready (RR) soybeans and corn-suggesting a link with the RR gene or more likely the presence of Roundup.  This organism appears NEW to science!

This is highly sensitive information that could result in a collapse of US soy and corn export markets and significant disruption of domestic food and feed supplies. On the other hand, this new organism may already be responsible for significant harm (see below). My colleagues and I are therefore moving our investigation forward with speed and discretion, and seek assistance from the USDA and other entities to identify the pathogen’s source, prevalence, implications, and remedies.

We are informing the USDA of our findings at this early stage, specifically due to your pending decision regarding approval of RR alfalfa. Naturally, if either the RR gene or Roundup itself is a promoter or co-factor of this pathogen, then such approval could be a calamity. Based on the current evidence, the only reasonable action at this time would be to delay deregulation at least until sufficient data has exonerated the RR system, if it does.

For the past 40 years, I have been a scientist in the professional and military agencies that evaluate and prepare for natural and manmade biological threats, including germ warfare and disease outbreaks. Based on this experience, I believe the threat we are facing from this pathogen is unique and of a high risk status. In layman’s terms, it should be treated as an emergency.

A diverse set of researchers working on this problem have contributed various pieces of the puzzle, which together presents the following disturbing scenario:

Unique Physical Properties

This previously unknown organism is only visible under an electron microscope (36,000X), with an approximate size range equal to a medium size virus. It is able to reproduce and appears to be a micro-fungal-like organism. If so, it would be the first such micro-fungus ever identified. There is strong evidence that this infectious agent promotes diseases of both plants and mammals, which is very rare.

Pathogen Location and Concentration

It is found in high concentrations in Roundup Ready soybean meal and corn, distillers meal, fermentation feed products, pig stomach contents, and pig and cattle placentas.

Linked with Outbreaks of Plant Disease

The organism is prolific in plants infected with two pervasive diseases that are driving down yields and farmer income-sudden death syndrome (SDS) in soy, and Goss’ wilt in corn. The pathogen is also found in the fungal causative agent of SDS (Fusarium solani fsp glycines).

Implicated in Animal Reproductive Failure

Laboratory tests have confirmed the presence of this organism in a wide variety of livestock that have experienced spontaneous abortions and infertility. Preliminary results from ongoing research have also been able to reproduce abortions in a clinical setting.

The pathogen may explain the escalating frequency of infertility and spontaneous abortions over the past few years in US cattle, dairy, swine, and horse operations. These include recent reports of infertility rates in dairy heifers of over 20%, and spontaneous abortions in cattle as high as 45%.

For example, 450 of 1,000 pregnant heifers fed wheatlege experienced spontaneous abortions. Over the same period, another 1,000 heifers from the same herd that were raised on hay had no abortions. High concentrations of the pathogen were confirmed on the wheatlege, which likely had been under weed management using glyphosate.

Recommendations

In summary, because of the high titer of this new animal pathogen in Roundup Ready crops, and its association with plant and animal diseases that are reaching epidemic proportions, we request USDA’s participation in a multi-agency investigation, and an immediate moratorium on the deregulation of RR crops until the causal/predisposing relationship with glyphosate and/or RR plants can be ruled out as a threat to crop and animal production and human health.

It is urgent to examine whether the side-effects of glyphosate use may have facilitated the growth of this pathogen, or allowed it to cause greater harm to weakened plant and animal hosts. It is well-documented that glyphosate promotes soil pathogens and is already implicated with the increase of more than 40 plant diseases; it dismantles plant defenses by chelating vital nutrients; and it reduces the bioavailability of nutrients in feed, which in turn can cause animal disorders. To properly evaluate these factors, we request access to the relevant USDA data.

I have studied plant pathogens for more than 50 years. We are now seeing an unprecedented trend of increasing plant and animal diseases and disorders. This pathogen may be instrumental to understanding and solving this problem. It deserves immediate attention with significant resources to avoid a general collapse of our critical agricultural infrastructure.

Sincerely,

COL (Ret.) Don M. Huber
Emeritus Professor, Purdue University
APS Coordinator, USDA National Plant Disease Recovery System (NPDRS)

Now, pay very close attention to his recommendations and what he says in his summary of this well written letter.  His very last sentence pretty much says it all; “It deserves immediate attention with significant resources to avoid a general collapse of our critical agricultural infrastructure.”

Bottom line is, if our farm animals are aborting and becoming infertile and our crops are infested with this pathogen, it means there will be less of them.  Less farm animals for food and  less crops for food mean more food shortages.  More food shortages mean even higher food prices and complete devastation to our food supply.

What I am wondering is, if this pathogen reproduces and readily speads to other plants and animals, can it spread to humans, possibly causing spontaneous abortions and infertility if it has not already.  Even if it hasn’t, I do not see how this can be a safe thing for the human population and this needs to be stopped.  This is definitely new cause for concern for our nation’s food supply.

In closing;

Bravo! and Thank you! to:

COL (Ret.) Don M. Huber
Emeritus Professor, Purdue University
APS Coordinator, USDA National Plant Disease Recovery System (NPDRS)

for your time, research and your letter.  At least someone is trying to put an end to this madness.  Mess with mother nature and she may bite back ten fold.

(Note from Susan; I was browsing through photos of aborted cow fetuses as I was considering using them, but noticed I was becoming nauseated.  I decided to spare you this.)

GREAT GEOGRAPHY LESSON
It is amazing how often we speak of these countries and don't really know where they are.
Drag the country's name onto the map. There is no humbling score nor time limit; this exercise is a learning tool. Don't fear making an error. Once you finish the puzzle, you will be far more educated about this very intense section of our world. You think you know the countries? Wait.

A GA bill would make miscarriage punishable by death if the woman can't prove "no human involvement." (346 signatures on petition)

Ga. Law Could Give Death Penalty for Miscarriages

It's only February, but this year has been a tough one for women's health and reproductive rights. There's a new bill on the block that may have reached the apex (I hope) of woman-hating craziness. Georgia State Rep. Bobby Franklin—who last year proposed making rape and domestic violence "victims" into "accusers"—has introduced a 10-page bill that would criminalize miscarriages and make abortion in Georgia completely illegal. Both miscarriages and abortions would be potentially punishable by death: any "prenatal murder" in the words of the bill, including "human involvement" in a miscarriage, would be a felony and carry a penalty of life in prison or death. Basically, it's everything an "pro-life" activist could want aside from making all women who've had abortions wear big red "A"s on their chests. more>>>>>>>>http://motherjones.com/blue-marble/2011/02/miscarriage-death-penalty-georgia

What a House
Joanne Ussary made a house out of a Boeing 727.  She paid $2,000.00 for the plane.  It cost $4,000.00 to move and $24,000.00 to renovate (I want her carpenter)!  Not bad for a $30,000.00 investment.  The stairs open with a garage door remote and one of the bathrooms is still intact.  There is a Jacuzzi in the cockpit. The Boeing home is featured as part of a collection of creative conversions.  It has a spectacular view!  I wonder how much the land with this view cost!!!  WOW!!!

AMERICA
NEEDS A CANDIDATE WITH THIS PLATFORM!!

I  HAVE DECIDED TO BECOME A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT IN THE YEAR 2012...
HERE IS MY PLATFORM:

(1). Any use of the phrase: 'Press 1 for English'  is immediately BANNED!!!.    English  is  the official language;   speak it or wait outside of our borders until you can.

(2). We will immediately go into a two year isolationist  attitude in order to straighten out the greedy big business posture in this country. America will allow NO imports,  and we'll do no exports.     We will begin using Wal-Mart 's policy,
'If
we
ain't got it, you don't need it.'
We'll make and sell it here!

(3). When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it coming in here.

(4). All retired military personnel will be required to man one of the many observation towers located on the southern border of the United States  (six month tour).
They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTH BOUND aliens.

(5). Social Security will immediately return to its
original state
.

If you didn't put nuttin in, you AIN'T getting nuttin out.  Neither the President nor any other politician will be able to touch it.

(6). Welfare. -- Checks will be handed out on Fridays, at the end of the 40 hour school week,
AFTER
the successful completion of a urinalysis test for drugs, and passing grades.

(7). Professional Athletes -- Steroids?  The FIRST time you check positive you're banned from sports ... for life.

(8). Crime -- We will adopt the Turkish method,
  i.e.,
the  first time you steal,  you lose your right hand.  There is no more 'life sentences'.  If convicted of murder, you will be put to death by the same method you chose for the victim you killed: gun, knife, strangulation,  etc.

(9). One export of ours will be allowed: wheat; because the world needs to eat.  However, a bushel of wheat will be the EXACT price of a barrel of oil.

(10).  All foreign aid, using American taxpayer money, will immediately cease and the saved money will help to pay off the national debt and, ultimately, lower taxes.  When disasters occur around the world, we'll ask The American People if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen can make the decision as to whether, or not, it's a worthy cause.

(11).
The Pledge of Allegiance will  be said EVERY day at school and  every day in CONGRESS.

(12).
The National Anthem  will  be played at all appropriate ceremonies,  sporting events,  outings, etc.

My apology is offered if I've stepped on anyone's toes .... nevertheless......

GOD  BLESS  AMERICA !

WHERE TO BUY AMERICAN GASOLINE.CHECK THIS OUT!!!!
BE A CONSCIOUS BUYER. (Notice where WalMart gets their gasoline!)

WHERE TO BUY AMERICAN GASOLINE. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW.
PLEASE READ ON.

Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products? In addition, they are gouging us on oil prices.

Shouldn't we return the favor? Can't we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit?
An appealing remedy might be to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up your car you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia . Just purchase gas from companies thatdon't import their oil from the Saudis.
Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill up my tank, I'm sending my money to people who I get the impression want me, my family and my friends dead.

The following gas companies import Middle Eastern oil:

Shell...................................... 205,742,000 barrels

Chevron/Texaco.................... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil.......................... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway............. 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco................................... 62,231,000 barrels
And CITGO oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and openly avows our economic destruction! (We pay Chavez's regime nearly $10 Billion per year in oil revenues!)

The U.S. currently imports 5,517,000 barrels of crude oil per day from OPEC. If you do the math at $100 per barrel, that's over $550 million PER DAY ($200 BILLION per year!) handed over to OPEC, many of whose members are our confirmed enemies!!!!! It won't stop here - oil prices could go to $200 a barrel or higher if we keep buying their product.

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Sunoco.....................0 barrels
Conoco.. .................0 barrels
0ASinclair...................0 barrels
BP / Phillips........... 0 barrels

Hess........................0 barrels
ARC0........................0 barrels
Maverick...................0 barrels

Flying J...................0 barrels
Valero.......................0 barrels
Murphy Oil USA*.....0 barrels

*Sold at WalMART >
, gas is from South Arkansas and fully USA owned and produced.
*Not only that but they give scholarships to all children in their town who finish high school and are legal US citizens..

All of this information is available from the U.S. Department of Energy and each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

But to have a real impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers With the help of the internet, it's really simple to do.. Now, don't wimp out at this point....keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at only ten more (30 x 10 = 300)....and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)....and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!!!!!!!

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it...THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE-the entire population of the United States of America !!!!

Again, all you have to do is forward this message to 10 people. How long would that really take you? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people, within one day all 300 MILLION people could theoretically be contacted during the next eight days

Subject: First hand report from on the scene in Tokyo
I got this from a mutual friend in Tokyo.

To All,

While things in Tokyo itself are ok, I felt I needed to post on what
we who are in country are seeing compared to what the international
news and state-side news are reporting.

1)  The devastation, if you can believe it, is actually worse than you
are seeing.  On-ground local Japanese reporters are showing incredible
detail to illustrate just how hard the cities of Sendai, Fukushima and
essentially the entire Miyagi Prefecture have been decimated.  In some
towns, the damage is complete, total and you have to believe, final.
They talk of estimates of numbers of dead and missing but, it is clear
looking at the news and the pictures, they have absolutely no idea.
To give you an example of just how overwhelming the situation is, they
barely even mention the four missing trains and the passengers...that
is how inundated the news is with devastation.  The human tragedy is
particularly alarming when you realize that the Japanese, in a first-
world country, were as prepared as any civilization on earth for such
an event.

2)  The tragedy, of course, is still ongoing.  It is still below
freezing in many areas of the north hit, with fires still burning in
some areas.  There is no aid able to reach many and resources are
impossible to generate to get to everyone. We won't even talk about
disease...that is yet to come.  Right now, they cannot even put their
arms around the extent of what happened in the earthquake and tsunami.

3)  In Tokyo today, it was a brilliant spring day with a stiff
breeze.  I took a walk through a deserted Chinatown; the malls were
open for a few hours, at least half the stores closed.  At 3 pm,
everything closed except the grocery and pharmacies.  There is a sense
of tension, every television running rescue effort footage or nuclear
power plant analysis 24/7.  And we hear that breeze is due to shift
from west-east to east-west soon...

4)  Which makes the situation with the nuclear power plants,
particularly the one in Fukushima, even more of a concern.  Already
two of four reactor housing buildings have exploded due to hydrogen
build-up.  No amount of "down-play" can erase the images of nuclear
reactor buildings exploding.  Anyone with a brain knows that the
stuff about "not really as bad as it seems" that some talking-heads
spout just doesn't play...it is bad, and getting worse. Exploding
buildings and using seawater to cool nuke fuel are signs of a clearly
uncontrolled situation.

5)  Just today, there were four "aftershocks" which, anywhere else
(6.5, 6.2, etc) would be major earthquakes.  There was another tsunami
warning for Fukushima.  One shook the hotel, although I did not feel
it in Chinatown. The danger still persists of another earthquake
event, another tsunami.

We head back to NY tomorrow early...we are just observers in one of
the most epic disasters ever to hit the planet.  It is my view that,
of course, the Japanese will handle this all with their usual stoic
competence.  But it will be a very long haul for them.

Subject: Tortured for Wikileaks Leak

Dear friends,

Wikileaks whistleblower Bradley Manning is being subjected to brutal torture in a US military prison, part of a broader effort to silence and intimidate those behind any further leaks. The government is split on Manning's abuse. President Obama cares about the US global reputation -- a massive global outcry can push him to stop the torture:

Right now, Wikileaks whistleblower Bradley Manning is being tortured in a US military prison. Manning is subjected to utter isolation that can drive many people insane, with short periods each day where he is stripped naked and abused by jeering inmates.

Manning is awaiting trial for releasing secret military documents to Wikileaks – including a video of US soldiers massacring Iraqi civilians. And his brutal treatment appears to be part of an intimidation campaign to silence whistleblowers and crack down on Wikileaks. The US government is split on this issue, with diplomats publicly criticizing the military for Manning's treatment, but President Obama has stood aside so far.

Obama cares about the US's global reputation - we need to show him that it's at stake here. Let's build a massive global call to the US government to stop torturing Manning and uphold the law. On paper, the United States opposes torture. The US Constitution forbids “cruel and unusual punishment". And, along with almost a hundred other countries, the US has signed an international convention promising to treat all prisoners “with humanity and with respect for the inherent dignity of the human person”. But today, Bradley Manning is utterly isolated in a cell without sheets, not allowed to exercise and is being subjected to brutal humiliation that is causing serious mental harm. This violates US and international law.

Bradley is being held under 'prevention of injury' status despite 16 reports from military mental health professionals that he should be removed from these severe conditions. His lawyers are trying to enforce his basic constitutional and international human rights in court, but so far the military tribunal responsible for Bradley’s fate has ignored his suffering.

There has been a crack down on Wikileaks since the explosive revelations of US military crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq. Many speculate that this brutal pressure on Bradley is intended to force him to implicate WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. But Obama promised Americans and the world that he would protect, not persecute, whistleblowers:

"Often the best source of information about waste, fraud, and abuse in government is an existing government employee committed to public integrity and willing to speak out. Such acts of courage and patriotism, which can sometimes save lives and often save taxpayer dollars, should be encouraged rather than stifled."

Bradley's cruel treatment does the opposite and sends a chilling message to others who may want to expose important information. Let's act quickly to put massive international pressure on the United States government to honor its commitment to human rights, the protection of whistleblowers and end the shockingly cruel treatment of their own citizen. Bradley Manning claims he is a patriot and has admitted to releasing information that he felt the world had a right to know. While reasonable people can disagree about the approach of Wikileaks and the the rights or wrongs of those who delivered information to them, the illegal torture of Bradley Manning, who has yet to receive a fair trial or be convicted of any crime, is a shameful violation of human rights and human dignity.

With hope and determination,

Emma, Ricken, Pascal, Janet and the rest of the Avaaz team

Saint Bernie !

For most of us, early April means tax season. But not for 10 of the country's biggest corporations who pay little or nothing in taxes. Some of them, like GE, are actually paying negative taxes: $14 of your family's tax money this year will go to GE's $X billion rebate.

The thing is, most Americans don't know this freeloading is happening. So with help from Senator Bernie Sanders, we put together the chart below detailing the exact numbers for 10 of the biggest corporate freeloaders. Check it out, and then please help spread the word.
