Could you please give this an 'Internet push' thought your network of rescuers and bulldog folks...
Myself, and couple others are going to undertake making a calendar for "2010" - Brown Trout does an amazing job with professional 'bulldogs' and their handlers - These folks collect a lot (and I mean a lot of money) from bulldog fans and not much of it comes to rescue. Bulldogs World does several of good calendars as a nice side project for them too, I recall those proceeds go to rescue too.
We would like this one to be a "big one" - Our contest will start in a few weeks and right now we are looking to build a mailing list of contestants.
We envision prizes to winners, public voting, many photo entries and in the end, the production of a calendar that will benefit rescue by bring funds to rescue programs. This is in spirit of keeping rescue dollars in our bulldog community.
The most important part - that any thing we do to keep monies that are going to be 'spent on a calendar' anyway in our bulldog community. We hope to redirect calendar monies to a cause that benefits the bulldog community, which is a 'good thing'. Not bashing anyone else that does a calendar - just want to take control of the 'bulldog image calendar' and get a piece of the pie for rescue.
I look at this as "I going to buy something anyway, I should do good when possible". Personally - I buy green, I buy American and I will buy to support charities. Thinking along these lines "I need calendars, most likely a bulldog one - WHY NOT one that benefits rescue instead of a corporation?"
How many times have you looked at a bulldog calendar and 'wished' or wondered IF any of the proceeds go to rescue? This calendar, you won't need to wonder - after costs, everything goes to rescue.
We just need to reach as many bulldog owners as possible - the chat boards, meet-up groups, clubs, rescues, dog parks - these are the people that buy calendars.
Every person we can contact or you contact - is one more person that might be willing to buy a rescue calendar to support rescue verses a 'product' that isn't benefiting rescue directly.

Hi All -
Not to take up too much time on an 'off topic' subject -
However, we are down to our last 48 hours of the Care2 "America's
Favorite Shelter Contest". The Southern California Bulldog Rescue
was doing really well and first place ''thank you" to a lot of other
breed and all breed rescues that helped with their votes to make sure
a California rescue might win. We also collected as many votes as we
could from other bulldog rescues in California to make it this far.
Most of you know us .. we are low key like our breed, but honest and
straight forward with providing the care and don't dick around with
local problems. We are in it for the bulldogs -
Over the past day, a dark horse rescue from the east coast has moved
form 14th to first place with over ,1500 votes and going to be the
winner. Not sure how they are generating over 80 votes per hour -
but they must have friends with fast fingers.
I'd like to ask anyone that hasn't voted and willing to help a
California based rescue win - to please cast your vote for So Cal
Bulldog Rescue. It's a state pride thing and also knowing, that at
least some of the grant winnings will stay in California and we know
all money is tight for all rescues.
http://www.care2.com/animalsheltercontest/70332
It's down the last hours and I don't see any California based rescues
coming up with 3000 plus votes to get in the winning and with a lot
of other's supports - friends, people you work with and others - we
might bulldog this out.
Lastly - May I please ask this be cross posted amongst any other
rescue boards, pure breed programs and others that can see the sense
in at least some other independent rescue.
Thx

VOTE!!! :-)
We have a chance to support SO CAL BULLDOG RESCUE who has offered to
help us!
They are already in the top 20- and the bullies need this $10K prize! :)
SO, forward this link to everyone you know- have them vote- it only
takes about 5 seconds, and YOU could change the world for a bulldog in
need...

We live in Sierra Vista but travel to Tucson frequently. We have two bullies, Buster Brown who is 2 1/2 and Torrita who is 3 1/2. Maybe we can arrange some time for them to play:)

Favor if I might ask... Some of the local "99 cent Only Stores" in various areas have some real neat postcard books, with 21 postcards of dog breeds in the books. They are
made by Brown Trout Publications and not half bad...
I am looking for the "English Bulldog" ones and want to get about 100 of them... I've checked my local 99 cent Only stores and they only have the Dachshund Breed.
If anyone happens to be by one and could check, I would more than happy to pay for them and the postage to get some of them...
We want to use them for a fund raiser and you can't beat the price..
