Hello, and welcome to AddisonDogs_
We are a diverse group of individuals who are striving toward healthy, active lives for our canine friend(s) with Addison's disease. We seek to improve wellness for the whole dog -- including body, mind and spirit. Our goal is to foster open communication about the variety of options available to the caregiver of a dog with Addisons disease.
"Canine Addison's Disease is NOT a death sentence *if* your dog receives appropriate treatment!!"
We discuss many topics such as diet, vaccinations and activities that our dogs participate in. We're not just a support group, we're family. Because many people have strong opinions about these topics, we ask you to remember your manners and be polite to all list members. It is okay to disagree, but it is not okay to belittle another person's opinion.
In order to allow people with newly diagnosed dogs quicker access to the group, membership applications will be approved immediately; however, new members will be placed on “moderated” posting status until their first introductory post is sent. Complete instructions for new members are included in the Welcome Letter you will receive when your membership is approved. Please read the ENTIRE letter before posting your first message to the group!
Please feel free to ask any questions. We wish this list to be helpful and educational for all, a mentoring group, and a place for owners of Addison Dogs to consult with (and learn from) each other.

Each year year Addison Dogs produces and sells calendars which are full of information on diagnosing and treating Addison's. The calendar includes spectacular photos of our own ADogs, as well as tributes to special vets, canine friends and others. All proceeds are used to support this website and distribute informational materials. To order a 2009 calendar, visit http://www.addisondogs.com/calendar/calendar.html
