Good morning.

I have a question related to doing Artificial Insemination VS Natural breedings.
I have routinely done AI's on bitchs preferred to Natural breeding for a number
of reasons. My success rate has and still remains very high when in tern using
Progesterone tests and vaginal smears. The question I have this morning is; does
anyone know of a good, safe Median we can use for mixing with the semen to
increase the volume without affect the motility or damaging the sperm? At times
if a male is collected to frequently I find the amount of semen decreases, the
sperm fraction of the collection remains very high but the volume makes it a
little more difficult to deliver into the bitch. I wondered if room temperature
Bottle water would work but I wouldn't attempt without advise from knowledgeable
reproductive people. The vets here will not offer up any advise, and on the
other hand I wonder if any of them have the experience and no how to offer an
opinion?
