A Paridgm for Humane Euthanasia will be submitted to the AVMA from USAP in 2010. This will be authored by Dawn Taylor Bechtold founder of U.S. Animal Protection, Dr. Robert Hopkins director of USAP and, adviser of congress for the animal welfare act and Dr. Howard Smith of the board of Veterinarians Massachusetts.

As a ASR USAP Member you are a guardian of animals. We at ASR and USAP rescue animals and work to ensure animals doomed in U.S. shelters will be euthanized in a humane manner.
ASR is a place to report violations and find out what facilities are violating animal cruelty laws. After we reform county and city shelters we will implement a mandatory spay neuter ordinance.
We are dedicated to stopping the inhumane and unnecessary killings of animals.
ASR is a database of shelter violations,animal cruelty and neglect in shelters. Goal: to start a national coalition for shelter reform. To appoint members in every state that will report to Government offices such as,State dept of agriculture,law enforcement and media and bring public awareness.

Demand your local shelters check for rigor mortis and heart beat to ensure death after euthanizing shelter animals, before they are cremated, put into freezers or disposed of in anyway.

We will pass laws stop shelters from selling to class B dealers and laboratories (Make Pound Seizure illegal). Shelters should be just that, a shelter and safe haven for homeless animals.
Shelters are supposed to provide respite and protection to homeless animals. Selling animals to laboratories represents the antithesis of a shelters purpose.

Animal controls that are cruel killing machines must be abolished.
