I know it's not the best thing, but Berkeley Dog and Cat referred me to care credit. It's national, will cover you and your family, but is also good for veterinary care. Surprisingly, I qualified. My boarding bill there is paid, and on the care credit, there is no interest if paid in under a year. www.carecredit.com

It is great thing. Most vets don't do 1 year. It costs them a lot of money because since Care Credit does not charge you, they have to charge them (I think like 15% of your bill)
Sometimes it is better to open up new Credit Card with 6 month 0% financing which citi bank and chase often offer, if you can pay in 6 mo.
Better for doctor office.

Just make SURE that you pay off the Care Credit loan each month on time, and that you finish making all the payments before the loan period is up.  If even one payment is late, you will be charged an outrageous 26.99 % (!) interest, and could end up paying many times what you borrowed.  Be very careful.  Back in the day, such interest rates were considered usury and were against the law.

It's actually not bad when most interest rates jump to 29.99% if they are late.  The reality is, we all sign and agree we will be on time with payments and pay them off in a certain time or face an increased APR or fine.  I know I got a year to pay off $800.  Six months for a little over $400 and I think 24 months for $2400 so they do help and as long as you make your payments, you will do okay.  And they don't say, you have to pay $100 a month if you owe $2400 and you agree to pay it off in 24 months.  They give you a low monthly payment but you need to watch it or you will end up owing a LOT all at once or have a ton of interest added.

Dear Friends,

Right to life. Unfortunately the Olive Ridley Sea Turtles are fighting for their lives in the Odisha coast, India. Together we can prevent this suffering. Now it's a race against time, as mortality of Olive Ridleys is worst along the coast of Odisha; with highly unsustainable fishing effort and habitat destruction, these beautiful species are on the verge of extinction.

This species is especially known for its mass nesting or arribada when several thousands of turtles migrate to the breeding ground to mate and nest. Olive Ridley Sea Turtles in Odisha represents about 50 % of its world population and 90% of sea turtles along the India coast comes to Odisha coasts for nesting.

Action for Protection of Wild Animals (APOWA) in its efforts on "Community Based Sea Turtle and Their Habitat Conservation Programme", which provides desperately needed conservation programmes, nest and habitat protection as well as vital community education and fishermen alternative livelihood progarmme that reduce impacts on highly endangered sea turtle populations and improve community well-being at the world's largest Olive Ridley nesting sites of the region.

Dear members and friends:

Only 3 days till Christmas and our Christmas tree looks a little bare.
Can you help with the decorations?
The ornaments shown is because a few people split their donation so several ornaments will show on the tree.
We really need your help, just for food and litter alone we spend $ 1, 200.00 a month, this is wet food, dry food and litter ONLY, not to mention all other shelter expenses.
Food companies were contacted and none want to help, and I say they do not want because that is exactly what it is, is not that they can't, lord knows they can!

We really need your help, any amount you can donate helps.
Some people contacted me saying that the links in the original e-mail (below) did not work, if the links don't work, please go to our web site www.HurricanePetsRescue.org (copy and paste link to your browser), on our web you will find Our Christmas Fundraiser as well as our Guardian Angel Program link, which is a program to become a monthly donor, the Christmas Fundraiser is just a one time donation.

It is only through donations from the general public that we can provide day to day care for the animals, please help.

Thank you for your support and caring God Bless and Happy Holidays to all.

Celene Albano, CEO

P.S.: If you have made a donation already THANK YOU from the bottom of
our hearts.

Also if you will like to come and visit our kitties, please let us know you are welcome anytime.

I have a female red nose pitbull, who was a stray that showed up at a neighbors
house and i took her in after a cpl of wks unable to locate an owner. well to my
surprise about 2wks ago,she started showing signs of being pregnant and Dec 19th
gave birth to 9 pups(2 still borns and 1 who died the next day) leaving me with
6 pups that seem quite healthy and very active. Questions are: i have never had
a female large dog who has given birth(as i always had either male dogs or
spayed females). So how normal is it for her to have after birth bleeding like
human women? how long does it usually last? there is no odor to it but should i
be concerned? i have read a few places that it is normal and can last for
wks,but i just wanted some other opinions becuz like i said this is my 1st time
with a large dog giving birth. im assuming becuz of the large litter she had and
the size of these pups there is some normal to it,but again im just assuming.im
hoping some of you can help with these questions and i apologize for using the
group for these, but i really didnt know where else to ask at.
thanks in advance,

Our organization is in need of some supplies.

We are in need of one of the basic foundations of our program; blankets. We are
very resourceful and can make almost anything work, recycled blankets(even if
torn or stained), towels(any size), even just a yard or two of left over
material you may have.

As mentioned, we will work with anything as long as, the material is warm and
soft(we really prefer Fleece and would prefer not to use any flannel).

Thank you in advance, if even just for reading our request.

From our family to yours.

Dear members and friends

Last year we put out the "GOING DOWN MEMORY LANE" with pictures of all the animals saved by us-you, from shelters around the country.
This year we really didn't had the time to put it together, but let me tell you that we are happy to tell the Nation that we almost doubled last years numbers.
387 lives were saved from shelter and different situations around the Nation.
NOT BAD AT ALL, YOU DID IT!

We at HPR want to say "THANK YOU" from the bottom of our hearts.
It is because of you believing in us, your beautiful hearts and your constant support and caring that these lives were saved and the animals saved had a second chance in life.

Special THANKS to our foster parents, saving these lives would have been impossible without you, we love you and appreciate you.

To our donors, we really do not say it enough and THANK YOU doesn't seem enough but HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU, we couldn't ever do what we do without YOU, it is because of you that our shelter functions, that we can provide for the animals, it is because of you that we can continue doing what we do,do.
SAVE LIVES AND GIVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE THAT IS.
So, THANK YOU.

To our volunteers, HPR Board Members, we have been through a lot in 2011, looking for a brighter and better future, :)
THANK YOU for being team players, for just being there.
For being there in good times and not so good ones.
Love you guys.

THANK YOU to our rescue partners and private rescuers, for coming together to save a life, it is only together that we can do this.

To HPR transporters Air and Ground, THANK YOU, we couldn't bring families together if it weren't for you.

I hope I have mentioned and remembered everyone, if I didn't please accept my sincere apologies.
My brain isn't what it use to be, too many animals, lots to do, so what is left of my brain (is called getting old) is only a few less brain cells that surprisingly are still functioning.:)

Anyway, on behalf of the ANIMALS THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Is like I always say, we feed, clean and give the animals a roof over their heads but YOU all of YOU are the real heroes here.
YOU are the ones that make things happen, there is really no way that we can do this alone.
What you do is priceless, we wish that all the good you do, do comes back to you in more ways then one, May God bless you always.

THANK YOU, is really an honor to "know" all of you.

Best Wishes, blessings and happiness to you and yours, 4 legged children included, for 2012 and always.

Hi;

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and that New Year will be good to you.

As some of you know I run a program called PetCouponsCentral, last year I received 35,806 coupons, sent out 35,267 coupons totally $ 55,812.59. The program was very busy last year and this year looks busier.

I need your help by becoming a "Clipper" All you have to do is to clip any pet related coupons and send them to me so that I can disburse them to the folks that are asking for a helping paw.

If you haven't heard about the program please go to www.petcouponsprogram.com and read all about the program and the many other ways you can help.

It is important that program continues and it can only continue with wonderful folks like you.

If you have any questions please feel to write me.

Have a great day,

Mary Rogers
