Hi,
I've put some Amazon Swords on the aquarium. I'll try and get Cabomba. (to
keep my guppy fry alive)
By the way what's the difference between foxtail and Cabomba?
Also,
i'm just getting my cement pot ready.
It's quite big.
To be more specific it's the ring that is used in wells.(with my
modification)
Is it a good idea to put some angels in it??(to breed)
or sshould i put em in my aquarium and shift the guppies to the pot??
Warm Regards(i won't use chill cause it's summer)
Rohan

Hi Naga.
I have four aquariums setup at the moment. Two at my father's house. A seventy
gallon tank which has some lake Victoria cichlids and three plecostomus. The
other tank is a one hundred gallon containing five frontosa cichlids, six
leluepi cichlids and a few synodontis catfish, and one plecostomus. My favorite
tank and I cannot even watch it daily.
At my home I have a fourty gallon tank with a pair of jack dempsey, a convict
cichlid, two kuhli loaches, some corydoras, some tiget barbs, a pair of
angelfish. Most of the fish are still juvenile, but it is quite a meanagerie.
My other tank at home is a 55 gallon with more lake Victoria cichlids and some
Demasoni cichlids, a couple bushy nose plecostomus, some synodontis catfish.
This tank needs work, I need more rockwork and caves for them to hideout in. I
should seperate the female victoria cichslids, they lok like they are holding
eggs or babies.
Ok, that's my collection, who's next?

Poecilia reticulata, or the common guppy, is presumed to be the evolutionary ancestor of the killer guppy, Poecilia redikillous. Speculation aside, the true nature of the killer guppy's origin is still a mystery. Several theories exist, including Dr. Gothimbaza's Origin Theory, and the Tenison Hypothesis. Poecilia reticulata, like redikillous, are small, carnivorous, freshwater fish, but live mainly in the southern Caribbean and in northern South America, while killer guppies have been found in almost all climates. Killer guppies can live for long periods of time out of the water and have been recorded as being able to "fly." All guppies have striking colorations of yellow, red, orange, green, blue, purple, and black; however, killer guppies have very violent streaks of color. Female guppies bear from 2 to 126 live young every four weeks; although, reticulata have been observed eating their young. It is not certain whether this is true of redikillous parents.
I've got around 10 guppies. 4mails and 6 females. Can u guys give some info on breeding and caring for their young???? Just some general tips. 2 of my guppoe are pregnant. They aren't the so called "show guppies" . i did not get show guppies cause some websites say that it's difficult to breed them. mine are just the normal coloured guppies.
Hello group
Ardent plant growers- who among you uses substrate heating?
Is it a DIY or commercial product?
If its DIY please share the info.

Vijay
They need a very quite environment shallow water well suited pair( male can be aggresive and kill the female if she is not ready to breed) floating plants and green water for atleast 10 days for the frys which really are very very microscopic.
good luck

Mr. Rajesh,
R U from BANGALORE? If so , you can collect from Ulsoor Lake Bund or
Yediyur Lake Bund. These lakes are cleaned and the clay removed. If not,
you may collect it from the tile factories if they exit in your
surroundings.

Hi,
As it is, we are a fish loving , aquarium crazy group. We are NOT into business
, But definitely are most interested at reducing costs in the hobby.
As far as transactions of fish exchange and sale go on, it strictly has NOTHING
to do with the group.
Going thro' the mail archives should help you to gain an insight into the group.
cheers,
Naga

Don't you think it will be wonderful to say hello and share a cup of

Hi guys
Hope you are ALL well.
I would like to know if anyone in the group has been successful in
breeding cardinal tetras and puntius denisonii?
Please share your experience with these two fishes with regards to
breeding.
What live foods have been used for the fry?
And is there anyone in the group trying to line breed guppies?
Cheers

Welcome to the group Vijay!
Nice to know that we have a surgeon in our midst. If you could tell us as to
which city you stay in, we could help you get in touch with the local hobbyists.
Do feel free to ask your q's however silly they might seem. We are here to

Hello Rohan.
Raising the temperature and 2 minutes salt water bath should take care of
your problem.. You can also use the AZOO medicines for white spot. It
should heel within three to four days.

Hey,
i've got a pair of sharks(catfish) and swordtails. With about four mollies in an
aquarium. One of the sword tails and the catfish have got freshwater
ich.(Ichthyopthirius multifiliis)
i'd like to know if the catfish with tolerate a rise in temperature. I also
intend to add a little aquarium salt but don't know if catfish will
tolerate.(The aqua FAQ says that a rise in temp to about 90 degrees Farenheit
will do the job)

Hi Rohan,
The new fish r as follows:
1) a pair of swordtails.
2) a pair of orange mollies
1+2 are compatible , but not with golds
3) a pair of blue Morphs
these are cichlids and are not community fish generally
4) a pair of catfish(What they usually call sharks)
these are safe to keep with golds, but guess your tank is too small.
Any idea apart from medicines????????????
Exchange these fish with other aquarists
The concoctions that I referred to were "ammolock" and "stress zyme"
cheers,
Naga
My relative has bought me 4 pairs of different fish(She does not know anything about fish). I wanted to put them in my aquarium but am worried about an ammonia build up. The Blue Morphs(Spelling) are really small about the size of your thumb nail. The golds are like 3-times their size. There is some medicine, that Naga had told me . i can't remember the name.
The new fish r as follows:
1) a pair of swordtails.
2) a pair of orange mollies
3) a pair of blue Morphs
4) a pair of catfish(What they usually call sharks)
Any idea apart from medicines????????????
I thought of putting 2 pairs in the aquarium and the other pairs in seperate buckets where i can constantly change the water. But it is not as convinient as it sounds.
The tank is about 5 litres capacity.
there are alooooooot of plants. Crypts and grass . 2 golds and 2 guppies were already there in the tank.
Also, it would be good if someone could give me more info on the compatibility of these fish.
