Hi All,
As of tomorrow, it will have been 14 days since Drew has been missing. We
missed celebrating his 5th Birthday on 9/29/05. That was a very painful day
for us. Thank you everyone for all of your prayers and support. They help
keep us going.
We have distributed (via posting & door to door) in excess of 10,000 fliers,
visited or had friends visit all the shelters in our area and beyond on a
continuous basis, contacted all the rescue groups we can think of, put ads in
the Daily Breeze (w/PIC), and the LA Times, had 2 bitches in season out,
contacted vets, pet stores, feed stores, doggie daycares, boarding kennels,
groomers, mail carriers, UPS, Gas, phone, cable, bus drivers, schools, police
depts, animal control offices, and city employees in multiple cities, posted
him
on lost websites, taken out the other dogs to leave scent in the parks, and
scent trails leading to the car, left food stations out, and slept in the
suburban several nights with the back & his crate open with raw lamb tripe in
it.
We have had several people come out and help us with looking and flier
posting. We have followed up on every lead that comes in from Santa Monica to
Palos Verdes and everything in between. We have talked to several animal
communicators, and I have been in touch with the bloodhound person that covers
this
area. We don't have any solid leads in the right time frame to get her into
this area. I know e-mails have gone out all over. I just keep praying that
the right flier or e-mail gets where it needs to go to help get Drew home.
Thursday, I picked up a Yellow Lab in the middle of the street (Prairie
Ave.) that was going to get smashed, checked its tags and took it home.
Friday,
I found a special needs child that had been missing for 24 hours and
connected him with his family. On Saturday, I saw and attempted to help catch
another lost dog that has been missing longer than Drew. At least now, the
owner
knows her dog is still alive. If Drew wasn't missing I would not have been
any of these places.
I know that Drew will be coming home safe to us. It is in God's hands and
His timing. All we can do is keep praying and searching, hoping each day that
this is the day he will coming home.
Please continue to pray for us and for Drew's safety. Please also hug and
kiss your Aussies and tell them how much you love them. We will be so happy
when we can finally do this with Drew again.
Susan
