The AustFIPSupport Group is for cat owners, breeders, veterinarians and researchers to share experiences, exchange information and find support when their feline companions have been diagnosed or are suspected of having Feline Infectious Peritonitis(FIP). Australia seems to be lagging behind the UK and US with limited open dialogue and support available due to the stigma and fear surrounding this disease. Testing protocols also differ between countries so it is hoped this list will assist those living in Australia by offering access to accurate relevant information for the Australian context. This group values your support and knowledgeable breeders, research scientists and veterinarians are needed to assist users of this group to understand this complex disease. Any breeder who is prepared to speak openly about their experiences of this disease should be applauded. It is hoped this group will be a source of comfort and knowledge for breeders and pet owners alike as we work together to bring about awareness and break the wall of silence surrounding FIP.
