This list is designed to be a forum for serious discussions about Basset Hounds. All discussions about Basset health, genetics, genetic disease, breeding, training, showing, performance events, behavior, handling, and nutrition are allowed, and encouraged.

Anectdotal stories about your dogs, are allowed, but this is not the primary purpose of the list. Brags, and memorials are allowed, but brags should not get excessive, and congratulations, and sympathy should be sent privately, so that the list doesn't get overwhelmed by everybody congratulating everyone.

This list will be moderated. We will take steps to make sure that this list does not become a forum for the buying and selling of dogs and puppies. However, if someone has a litter announcement, or wants to submit a web address showing photos of their dogs, studs, puppies, and young hopefuls, this can be classified as a brag. Inquiries must be sent privately. No advertising of products for sale are allowed.

Flaming will not be allowed. We realize that flaming is a subjective term, and one person's flame, is another's logical discussion. It will be up to the moderator to decide when things are getting out of hand. People may be taken off the list at the moderator's discretion if they can't get along.

This list will not become another Daily Drool. There will be
