Hello,
My name is Keith Kibler. My wife Sandy and I live in Southern IL by
the Shawnee and raise mtrs and twhs. This is our herd:
http://photobucket.com/albums/v106/kkibler/Horses/
We have a whole group of gaited riders down here but we are the only
mftrs. Everybody else is twhs or rockies.
Hope we can all ride together sometime.
Anybody going to Big Creek in late May?
Keith
Well, I made it this time. I hope to make it Sunday. I'll have to
see what the weather brings, and if I get everything done around here
I need to first. Then see if I can find it.
Carole
Sarah,
Congratulations on your accomplishments! I wish I could attend the
open house Sunday, but I have a prior committment out of town.
Hopefully you will have a good turnout.

Where is the starting point for this ride? Is Ron H planning on
riding? I've been wanting a chance to ride but can't seem to work it
in lately. This would be a good opportunity to make time.

This afternoon I met with a hunter/jumper trainer & friend who runs a
fabulous facility in Chesterfield off Wildhorse Creek Road. The
facility is next to the where the Paso Fino barn on Wildhorse Creek
Road was next located. (Wildhorse Creek Road is above Chesterfield
Valley, just of I-64(old Hwy 40).
Here's the deal. The trainer said we could use the facility as long
as everyone had a current coggins and would sign a release. To fund
the event, a major portion of the funds will be directed to
TailorMade Sport Horses and the balance will be donated to Bi-State
Fox Trotter Horse Breen Assn (the newest MFTHBA affiliate).
Let me describe the facility: (This is the same place I train,
trained Troy Murrell on Diana Hyde's High Point Versatility 2004
Champion). The outdoor arena footing is perfect for jumping, there
are very nice A rated jumps, and is of schooling size. If the
weather is not agreeing with our clinic, no problem. There is an
indoor arena where we can fit at least 4 jumps with nice footing.
Further, there are stalls available at $20 per night (12 x 12). This
is a first rate Hunter Jumper training facility and I'm delighted we
have the opportunity to train at this facility.
The event will either be a one day deal or two days beginning Sat
afternoon and wrapping up on Sunday morning (preferred). The cost
will be very affordable with stabling available. Human accomodations
will need to be made. We will need to take reservations and pre-
registration required as the facility will only hold a limited number
of trailers (depending on size of trailer and it's recommend you
bring the smaller rig).
The Bi-State FTHBA has not yet approved this event but since it is
not a sponsored BSFTHBA clinic, I don't know that approval is
required. Simply put, BSFTHBA will benefit from some of the proceeds
of the clinic. Please note that I will not be charging an
instructor's fee as I do not train as a professional. My time is a
donation to benefit MFT and other gaited horses. For those who do
not know me, I owned/trained/rode Eliminator's
Copper Bullet to three world champion - jumper - titles. Though not
training as a professional (accepting riders/horses), I have broke
and retrained many off track thoroughbreds.
Helmets REQUIRED, English saddle RECOMMENDED, Attire --- whatever you
want to wear!
More information to follow.
Thank you.
Sarah McCoin
We are in the process of planning a jumping clinc May 6 0r 7 in
Chesterfield at a REAL Hunter Jumper barn. Any gaited horse is invited.
Sarah McCoin with be the instructor. There will be stalls available
overnight, if needed. ANYONE INTERESTED?
More details will follow soon. vicki cook
s usual, lot of stuff going one and I really need to get focused on
my profession ( job )but this MFT project is far more fun & thought
provoking.
This morning, I spoke w/ Dr. Bob and he is very excited. Not sure he
will be around on Sunday but if you see him (he is a big man - like
Paul Bunyon), please be sure to introduce yourself. He has not one
pretentious bone in his body and is very approachable - just a dandy
of a man!
He asked if I would discuss w/ his insurance broker the plans we have
and further asked that we hold off on the "open riding" sessions as
the insurance needs to be worked out. With regard to planning
clinics, it's a go as we can purchase individual event liability
insurance so we will go ahead with getting clinics going.
However, I need to get our affiliate w/ the government and will file
next week all necessary documents, open the bank account, etc. We
should have our by-laws established next week and ready to plan our
first official membership meeting to formally advise all members of
our ligitimacy. To all - this is going to be a GREAT RIDE!
With regard to open riding, it occurred to me this morning (while
talking with my tall friend, Vicki Cook), that we may have another
opportunity for use of a training facility located in Wildwood, off
Wild Horse Creek Road. This is facility is an operating hunter
jumper barn complete with an indoor and outdoor arena. This
facility's areanas are not as functional for a show as Dr. Meckers
but wouldn't it be nice to have two nice facilities for our use. I
have a call into the trainer to see if we could put on a jumping
clinic at her facility. Again, very accessible, however, limited
trailer space so we will need to ask that you try not to bring
the "big rig" if we use this facility.
So, Sunday to visit Dr. Mecker's place, and as soon as I hear from
the other barn manager, I will let you know.
Again, thank you all for the support. Dr. Mecker's is very excited
and I know I'm grateful for the opportunity.
Toodles,
Sarah McCoin
Great idea - go for it and I will try to remember to utilize the
calendar as well.

Hi All-There I is a benefit trail ride for St. Jude on APRIL 1-it
starts at 10am. It will be approx. 10 miles and takes about 3 hours.
You need to get family and firends to sponsor you for the ride. You

Our affiliate will be presented, assuming it makes the agenda, this
evening. I believe we have the appropriate support to have this
affiliate approved. My only fear is that the paperwork was submitted
today making it tough to be placed on the agenda.
