The California Association of Rat Enthusiasts (CARE) is dedicated to promoting and improving the fancy rat through openness, education of owners, mentorship of new breeders, and by offering family-friendly fun and information.
CARE is a no-cull club. We do not support individuals or breeders that practice culling.
Announcements and discussions regarding the club will be sent to this email list. General rat chatter is encouraged too. All club members should be a part of this list, and of course all rat lovers are welcome.
All ages are also welcome so lets keep the language and topics G rated. Please remember to be kind in your posts. Tone and inflection are not always easily conveyed in writing and misunderstandings can arise. Remember the name of the club is CARE.
The CARE board members are the board moderators. The first few messages sent to the list from new members will be moderated. This is an automatic group setting to help weed out spammers and the like. Once a member has posted a few messages, moderated status will be removed and that member can post freely.
Breeders on the list and members with rescues may post the availability of their rats on this board. Responses to those posts, requesting babies, should be done by private email with the breeder or rescuer.
The CARE group periodically schedules live, online chats via Chatzy.com to discuss club business, upcoming events, etc. Announcements of chat dates and time will be posted on the board. Board members must attend, club members are encouraged to participate. Any member can use Chatzy and schedule a group chat for fun or to discuss a particular topic. Just post your chat date and time on the board.
