CSI (CAShelterImpounds) is about dog, cat pet rescue in California. It was started in late 1999 so rescuers can network and tell what's at what pound, animals that need a home, rescuers asking other rescuers general questions about rescuing pets in California. There are many people who are NOT in California, but the topic is about animal welfare and shelter pets in California.

We discuss laws in California, animal shelters and what makes them good or bad, transportation for pets, how to save money and get donations of items, how to find good deals on pet products for rescuers. We help other rescuers that are in our rescue community, or ask or give help when possible. Basically, we try to be a support group for pet rescuers in California.

This list is for people who either are pet rescuers or want to learn pet rescue and want to meet mentors and network. This group is NOT meant for people who are looking for a pet, although some of those people who joined for that purpose have become rescuers themselves. They weren't aware that there was a bad pet overpopulation problem in California; there is. There are other lists for people who are looking for a pet such as peopleneedingdogs and similar lists and groups for other people looking for pets.
