Look at Table ES-1 in this executive summary.
 
Some questions emerge in my mind that require just beg explanation:
 
1)   How reliable is this estimate?
 
2)   Where do these burrowing owls come from?
 
3)   What is the population impact of this level of mortality of burrowing owls?
 
4)   Does the Altamont Scientific Review Committee have any awareness that burrowing owls were recently petitioned for listing as an endangered/threatened species in California?
