This group is modelled after Anna Dorfman's wonderful Rat-Adoption group in the United States. It is also in homage to the defunct Pet Rats Canada Rat Adoption board, which was a wonderful source of connecting rats in need of homes, to homes in need of rats.

If you have shelter rats, rescue rats, fosters, or accidental litters of rats (and mice!), feel free to announce them here. If you are looking for a rat or two, you've come to the right place. Please post that you are looking for a pet rat, and surely you will find one. Breeders are welcome to post about their rescue rats, but not any intentionally-bred litters. Breeders are not welcome to solicit for clients on or off-list (this is called poaching), or adopt any rats for the purposes of breeding.
