Hi Everyone:

Thought I would give an update on Canada's National Horse Exhibition being held
August 22 -23:)

The class list has been finalized and posted on the site, www.cnhe.ca . Please
note that there were additions and some changes. One of the changes was in the
dressage classes.

We will be giving out more awards and some sponsors have donated gifts which
will be given out in different classes. Prize money will be calculated after
the show as this percentage will be determined by the number of entries. Last
year's participants have been sent letters regarding last year and how we plan
to handle that situation.

Entry Fees: There will be discounts for returning participants as well as # of
classes entered (More to come on that later). Youth classes are $20.00 each
instead of $25.00.

We have two good judges this year and we are looking for more volunteers: A Ring
Steward for Sat. and Sun. and a Scribe for the Dressage classes on Saturday
morning.

Rules for the show: These are in the works and will be posted soon. Please note:
We will be following some of the rules posted in the CHBA website.
http://www.lechevalcanadien.ca/forms.htm

All horses must be shown in durable leather halters and or bridles.
Nylon harness, halters/leads and or bridles are not permitted. Costume classes
are an exception.

(In hand classes) All handlers in the show ring must be in proper show
attire and have care and control of their horse at all times. Show attire must
be neat and clean. No blue jeans are permitted, however a gentleman may wear a
sports jacket with new-looking (not faded) black denim pants or a women may wear
a nice blouse with or without vest and new-looking black denim pants. Cowboy
hats/attire are discouraged in conformation classes. Showmanship classes are an
exception.

Coming from the US: So far we have one horse coming from Vermont. Make sure you
have all your paperwork in order ie: passports etc. The horses do need a coggins
and health papers to come across too.

As far as the show goes, you will need the following:
copy of registration papers
proof of insurance (one million liability)
a waiver which you can sign once you arrive at the show

SPONSORS:
All $25.00 - $50.00 sponsors will have a chance at a special draw (done at the
end of the show, gift can be mailed to you)
All $100.00 and up sponsors will also have a chance at a different draw and will
be sent a very nice thank you gift.

If anyone needs help, has questions etc. please don't hesitate to contact me at
cosyland@...

I would like to thank everyone for their patience and kind emails while we get
back on track.
We are updating as much as we can on the website. Just not enough hours in a day
it seems.

Thanks
Pat Garland
