forwarding message about a horse in need of a home...
Please contact Menda directly.
Last time I talked with you we were getting ready to move to Florida
and looking for a home for our horse, Emma. We found a great place to
board her and that's working well.
The story is that Emma has been added to a group of horses and has
paired up with a little black walking horse mare. I went to see her
last week and they were all very happy and content. Yesterday I had a
call that the people that owned the walking horse mare had quit paying
her board and abandoned her. The guy that had the pasture board
agreement had been carrying it for six months but let the barn know
that she would be going to the auction barn this week. Shawm (the
"saint" that has her horse business there) started calling - none of
us want her to go to the auction as we are certain she'll just be sold
to the packers.
So - we are all looking for a good home for this little mare. We are
trying to get more info on her and Shawm was going to bring her in
this weekend and see if she rides, etc. We kicked in money to pay
some board and he agreed we could try to find her a home.
Can you spread the word - it is urgent that we place this mare or
provide for her. I hate to separate her from Emma but I just can't
take on the responsibility for another horse when I'm so far away.
The farm is in West Lincoln County and I can get phone numbers or
whatever info anyone would want. Would you please spread the word for
us in your area or send to anyone else that might help?
Thanks a bunch,
Menda Street
