I have a question about settling things down for my 2 cats. I'll do
my best to keep things brief, but there's a lot to relate.

First -- I presently have an 8 y.o. orange tabby Bebop, 7 m.o.
Aby/grey tabby Sam (both cats neutered/male), and 3 y.o. choc lab
(f/spayed). Bebop's been with me since rescue at 4 months, and was
brought into my house with 2 10 y.o. cats and a 5 y.o. dog. The
siamese was his adopted dad. The tabby never liked him, but didn't
bother him much if he kept clear. Bebop is the last remaining of
the group, the others were put to sleep for health issues more or
less related to old age. The 14 y.o. dog and 18 y.o. siamese were
put to sleep last Jan. The other cat passed a couple years
earlier. Last Aug I adopted Roxy, a 3 y.o. choc lab (f/spay). Roxy
and Bebop hit it off right away - couldn't ask for better. About a
month ago I adopted a 6 mo old Aby-tabby mix, Sam. Sam came from a
cat shelter and loves cat company for play and snuggling. Bebop
used to snuggle with his adopted Siamese dad. Sam and the dog get
along great.

Sam was in a room by himself for the first few days and nights.
Bebop's hissing at the door stopped and he kind of ignored Sam so I
let him out. Things seemed ok.

Long story short, after about a month, Bebop continues attack Sam at
times. It's quick but loud if he connects. Roxy goes over when
there's trouble and that breaks it up. I've started to keep her
back so that the cats can work it out. Other times the cats will
lie on the couch a few feet from each other and it's ok. They'll
eat close to each other (separate bowls), take turns playing with a
cat dancer with me. Bebop just doesn't seem to like the little guy,
but I really do. I give them both attention - more to the kitten
because he follows me around (with the dog) and sits by me when I'm
at the computer (a lot!) and Bebop sleeps alot elsewhere, like he's
done for years. Kitten sleeps with me, Bebop sleeps elsewhere,
like he used to, but he did start to sleep some of the time with me
after the siamese died.

I'm worried about what's going on and am in need of help to have
this work out. I very much want to keep this kitten but am
concerned about the well being of both cats.
