Just a Horse!
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a horse," or,”that's a lot of money for just a horse".
They don't understand the distance travelled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a horse." Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a horse."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a horse," but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a horse," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a horse" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a horse," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."
"Just a horse" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.
"Just a horse" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person. Because of "just a horse" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a horse" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
"Just a horse" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a horse" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a woman/man."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a horse" just smile, because they "just" don't understand.

It is with sad news to inform everyone that Pata Hy ( Lucky Five Tonka x Hypata) was euthanized at 28 yr of age this morning. She was bred and lived her entire life with with her owner Laura Summers of Summer's Arabians of Rogersville, MO. Laura is grieving and could use your prayers or even calls of support. Laura herself is a "grand ole gal" at her spry age of 84 ( coming 85 I believe).
Pata Hy was a successful broodmare with several of her offspring competing very successfully at Reining. Including a top 10 at Scottsdale.
Just wanted to pass the word that I have a granddaughter of The Real McCoy (she is also a granddaughter of Nariadni) for sale. Out the door price is set at $600. My place is just too small to keep every horse and I need to find her a good home. She is a broodmare and produces beautiful foals. Her picture is on my website - www.staufferarabians.com under her name which is Amber Cynsation. She is a sweet gentle mare, stands for farrier and vet care quietly. Please contact me if you are interested by replying to this e mail or using the e mail addy on the website.
Thank you for your time.

Ibn Encore Leorer - "Laurel" ( Kha Encore x Von Marufa) 2005 chestnut filly. CMK/American Foundation. Halter broke. $600
Sales due to financial pressure. These horses are well worth a lot more. Both wormed regular and in excellent condition.
I got home from FL/ K.C. about 3 am tues.morning. Had a great time. Adam picked us up from the airport in a big strech limo and we rode around in it for about 3 hrs. Never been in a limo before. Played on the beach, ate lots of good food, and drank some beer.
Not for sure what shows we are going to this year, but I put in time off request for everyone I MIGHT go to. I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be for the season to start.
Gotta get to bed. See ya later.

Who is Jenna Elfman? What was she in? I don't think anyone has ever told me that, but thank you. ( I think) I just got back from Florida early ( 3 am) this morning, and now my internal clock is all messed up. I think we got most things taken care of @ the meeting. Class fees are going up all around, if I remember right. That will mean alot more money for the club just by raising fees $5 a class.
I better try to get to bed, talk to you later.

Hey Janice,
I really wanted to stay and dance but I was riding with someone else so
had to go. Laura was getting tired ( we left at 10 or so) after all she is
going to be 86. Her friend, Roxie was the one driving and she had a new
foal along with more due. I was staying at Lauras that night so that I
didn't have to drive so far that night. I also got to go visit with Sharon
Davis at her place. She has wonderful horses and I am real excited about
her participation in the Sporthorse realm. Where is the show committee
meeting at? Is it at the Cricks again? What is there left to discuss?
Warmest Regards,
Amber
