Tullibardine update!, & Fw: Seppala Kennels updates   Message List

Hey All;
Folks have been asking for more news from Tullibardine Chinooks and tales of
our 'big move' from Maine to Manitoba, and the short note is- We spent the
month of October enroute to Manitoba via North Dakota (with 34 of our 36
Chinooks in tow!), arrived in Rossburn 1st November, then shortly thereafter
it hit -30C, it started snowing, and Manitoba winter came early! SO; the
move isn't rightly 'over' yet, as remaining Seppalas need be moved from the
Yukon to Manitoba earliest spring; as well as remaining Tullibardine
norwegian fjord gelding & (3) containers settlers effects moved from Maine
to Rossburn, late spring/early summer!

All tolled and told; Jeffrey alone has maintained requisite clarity to begin
writing about events these past few months, for all of us at Tullibardine
and Seppala Kennels. So the following 10/22/07, 01/07/2008, & 01/10/2008,
posts (with links to photos & more moving tales) of his are offered here
both fyi and enjoyment, and are forwarded with Jeffrey's permission, in
entirety--

Announcement

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

SSSD Project founder J. Jeffrey Bragg takes great pride and pleasure
to announce his marriage to Susan Elizabeth Murray, I.S.A. Custodian of
Records and Tullibardine Farm Chinooks partner. A quiet civil ceremony took
place at 3 p.m. on Friday, 19 October 2007, in the McHenry County Courthouse
in Towner, North Dakota.

Yesterday, Sunday, 21 October 2007, at 1:30 p.m. Susan Bragg was
granted a 6-months visa to enter and remain in Canada with permission to
import her settler's effects, and encouragement to make immediate
application for permanent resident status. At twilight of the same day Mr.
and Mrs. Bragg returned to their new home in Rossburn, Manitoba.

For the moment, the Tullibardine Chinooks remain in Barton, North
Dakota, with Jack Murray who is caretaking them. Their importation to Canada
is expected to take place in a few days, after which Jack and Jeffrey intend
to head immediately to the Yukon to collect Isa Boucher and the Seppala
Kennels dogs and transport them to Rossburn. We still have no fixed date for
that return trip, except that it will probably take place in early November.
Further information will be published on the forums when and as appropriate.

Jeffrey and Isa Boucher would like to make it very clear to Project
supporters that the Bragg/Boucher SSSD Project kennel partnership remains
unchanged. (Project supporters who have insisted upon considering Jeffrey
and Isa an "item" are reminded that we have consistently tried to keep it
clear that our partnership has been strictly a dog-breeding partnership for
many years.)

Originally our intention was to enact and announce the new
configuration in a more formal and public way, once everyone was safely in
Rossburn. However, the hostile response of Quebec immigration personnel to
the Murray's attempted entry to Canada from Maine spoiled those plans. We
still intend to celebrate formally at a later date, hopefully even with some
Project supporters in attendance. The quick civil ceremony in Towner was
really the only way of getting Susan home to Rossburn without protracted
delay and bureaucratic nightmares.

At the Peace Garden port of entry between North Dakota and Manitoba,
we were asked two or three simple questions about our relationship, the
routine criminal record check was carried out, and Susan was given her visa
without any hassle whatever. Quite a contrast to Woburn, Quebec, where she
was called a liar, treated with extreme discourtesy, and denied entry to the
country. We think it says a lot about the difference between two Canadian
provinces.

2!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Project is happy to announce the marriage of Jack Raymond Murray
and Isa LeSueur Boucher, in Grizzly Valley, Yukon Territory. A quiet
ceremony took place in the Seppala Kennels main dogyard on 15 December 2007,
attended by a small group of friends. A photo of the happy couple can be
seen on the following webpage
http://www.yukonforestcabins.com/weddings/index.htm (scroll down the page).
We're informed that a good number of photos were taken, and we eventually
hope to be able to post a few here.

As noted elsewhere, the bride is currently recovering from
repetitive-stress injuries to her right shoulder and the groom's filling in
manfully in the stressful Seppala Kennels feeding and dog-care routine. We
were very happy to hear from Jack on the 5th of January, but it's doubtful
either of them will be around the forums to accept congratulations any time
soon. For the present, it's survival-mode again at SK (when was it ever
otherwise?). We wish Jack and Isa well, and trust that we'll all be reunited
in the spring. Meanwhile, PLEASE try to take it easy, Isa, and let the broad
Scottish shoulders of your husband take the brunt of the burden!
