Description
The Dog Aggression list is a companion discussion group for "Aggressive Behavior in Dogs: A Comprehensive Technical Manual for Professionals". The book is a comprehensive manual for professional dog trainers and behavior consultants in understanding, preventing, assessing and changing aggressive behavior in companion dogs.
The book is available through http://www.dogpsych.com. Those sold through dogpsych will be less expensive and autographed.
This list may be used for discussion among professional trainers and behavior consultants of aggressive behavior in dogs and get help with cases they may be working. This list is **NOT** for owners to get advice on solving aggression problems in their pet dogs. It is also NOT for those who want to learn how to train dogs to BE aggressive.
Please be professional and kind to others. Please keep discussion dog-friendly as well--do not subscribe if you will be advocating for aversive meathods or tools. This is a positive reinforcement based list. I am serious; this is to be a safe and supportive place. Being kind is more important than being right. That being said, use this list at your own risk. Subscribers are responsible for their own posts. James O'Heare is not responsible for the behavior of subscribers. If you cannot accept this, do not subscribe.
Advice offered can only be considered general. No behavior change program should be implemented without a full and qualified functional assessment.
This is a science based list, so please avoid nonscientific discussion. Cite sources where appropriate please.
Enjoy!
James O'Heare, CABC., CDBC.
