I started this organization after viewing the excellent, heart-wrenching online documentary "Earthlings," narrated by Joaquin Phoenix, which clearly points out the egregious suffering inflicted upon animals. It is both beautiful in intro and ending, and brutally honest in text. Try and watch it. It is life-changing. This is not new territory for me, but now I have started a fund, an organization. Please read on after I say the following: this is not all about fund-raising. I also will be posting pertinent links. I have set Google to send me alerts, they come in every day, and I have many links to post. Please be on the lookout for them, below. (more: no way to indent)

Back to the fund: being financially challenged right now (health issues), I cannot hire an accountant or pay fees to become non-profit, but this is where it will go. If you are an accountant who would work pro-bono with me, I would be incredibly honored. For now, to contribute to Elegy, you would send any gift, here (see below). I know this involves your complete trust, and do not know how to express my integrity, to strangers. I ask for a minimum pledge of $20 for adults. But even a dollar will help. All funds, to the last penny, will go to well-researched groups that fight cruelty to animals in the area of puppy mills, fur and leather production, factory farming, slaughterhouses, entertainment, etc. There are changes one can make in lifestyle, too. For instance, already vegetarian, I am trying to move to vegan, but am not preaching. Lifestyle is an extremely personal decision. There are other ways to help as well.
