Re: [EquineRepro] Showing Heat

Hello
We had the same case as yours this year with a nice filly: 28 mouths old. We
were spending the last 02 mounths waiting for that heat but last week, she begun
to "wax". She is pregnant and she will probably foal in the next fex weeks. We
remember that they all have been, colts and fillies, in the same paddock during
the whole last year!
All The Bests.

Not particularly odd. Some mares never show estrus, but a young mare is
more easily intimidated, and in many cases less likely to do so. It
would however be worth having her checked by a vet if you still have
concerns, and DEFINITELY have her checked if she was exposed to a colt -
even one as young as nine months of age - since she was about 9 months
old. After winter anestrus, pregnancy is the leading cause of lack of
estrus display...

Regards to all,

Consider the fact that fact that she may be a mare that will not show overt behavior unless she is ovulating and a stallion is teasing her at that time. OR Get...
