Re: [EquineRepro] used Regumate for mare's trip to Inspection

For such a short duration and at that time in gestation it is unlikely that the
drug could have any real effect on the developing CL's. I would still taper down
over a few weeks though, so as not to shock the mare with a dramatic decrease in
progestin.

I am opposed to the use of Regumate without good reason but a vet wanted our
syndicated mare on Regumate while she traveled to an Inspection about 2 hours
away. She is home now and I want to stop the Regumate but wonder if taking her
off after 6 days will have any ill effect on her 53day pregnancy? My notes from
the breeding class say that she should be removed at day 45,150 or 300. What
should I do? What would happen if I stopped now? Should I decrease the dose
gradually? Any advice welcomed.
Barbara
