Dear SPCA Fans & Supporters,

This morning my wife & I rescued two dogs that were wandering loose on Windermere Drive. We spent about an hour driving around looking for their owners & driving through subdivisions asking people out walking, jogging, driving & cutting grass. No luck. Fortunately, one of the Animal Control staff (while officially closed) was able to take the animals in, since we are at capacity at our own home & were not able to care for 2 more doggies until Tuesday. Why Animal Control would choose to be closed during the #1 weekend for dogs to get scared (of fireworks) and run away / get loose is beyond me. We are very grateful therefore, that one of the SCAC staff was able to help us out.

Please see the attached flyer with pictures of the two pups. If anyone knows who owns these 2 love bugs, please contact Stafford County Animal Control (540) 658-7387, or me (540) 842-9936 and we will see what we can do about getting them home before Tuesday when SCAC is scheduled to open again.

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter....the cast-offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal.
And I was angry.
"God", I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"
God was silent for a moment, and then He spoke softly,
"I have done something," He replied, "I created you".
