After three years of rescuing, fostering and finding loving homes for Black Cats, Familiar Friends has ceased operations. Over the last three years we've found loving homes for over 50 cats and kittens. While this success has been rewarding, we cannot forget our failures; we lost one foster this past year to kidney failure and were unable to find homes for our last three fosters, Athena, Kami and Spooky who now await their fate in the Wyandotte Animal Control Shelter. If you know anyone interested in these Familiars that I've cared for for over a year, please call Wyandotte Shelter and give them a home.
Thank you all for your support over the years.

When Dark Star, our Familiar passed beyond the veils in 2005, we learned from local shelters that Black Cats are far less likely to be adopted, and therefore face either lanquishing in Pound and Shelter cages or sadly, almost certain euthanasia.
We vowed that we would do something to help find homes for Black Cats, our traditional Familiars. Thus, with the aid of the Federation of Circles and Solitaries (FOCAS a 501(c)-3 nonprofit), Familiar Friends was born.
In our first couple years of operation, Familiar Friends has succeeded in placing almost thrity Black Cats into loving, predominantly Pagan homes, granting them a new lease on life.
Since that time we have spent thousands of dollars to assure that orphaned Black Cats receive the Veterinary care they need to be placed in loving homes.
If you would like to help, perhaps by adopting, fostering a Black Cat until a loving home is found, or by your tax-deductible contribution, please contact Familiar Friends at:
