Welcome to Feeding Feathers. The purpose of FF is parrot nutrition, and we want the list to stay on topic and relevant for members. Anything off-topic such as behavior, wellness, toys, etc., is to be posted to FeedingFeathersChat list.

On both lists, the following topics are inappropriate:
1. References to religion or politics, including in sig lines.
2. Any forwards such as “virus notifications".
3. "Me too" posts. Nothing to add? Don’t post.
4. "Thank you" notes. Send them by private email.
5. For anyone in business, no self-promotion or product advertising is allowed, including in sig lines. FF is non-commercial, period. You may recommend products as long as you have no financial interest in them.
6. Snip text-- delete strings of messages, anything that has appeared on the list already. Leave the one post or a sentence or two to which you're replying. It's very hard for people on digest to scroll through extra text.
7. ALWAYS consult with your bird's veterinarian about any health concerns. The internet, including this list, should not be used in place of conventional veterinary care or to delay seeking vet care for any bird.
8. And finally, before you write to the list, ask yourself if your post is something thousands of people will want to read. Please bear in mind that members signed up to read/talk about parrot diet and nutrition, so we try to eliminate the fluff.

Moderating off-topic/inappropriate posts and writing to people is time-consuming for the volunteer moderators. Future posts that don't meet the above rules may be deleted without notice. If you have written a post that doesn't appear, check through the guidelines to see if perhaps it did not conform. Yahoo problems could also be a reason for posts not appearing or posting late.
