Periodically, we are plagued by viruses and worms. Everyone needs to have a
virus scan program installed and update the file regularly so that his/her own
computer does not become infected.

If you don't know the sender of an e-mail, or don't know what the attachment is,
please delete it without opening it.

Even if you know the sender, it is wise to e-mail them (not by reply) to ask
whether the attachment is safe.

E-mail addresses are not secure although this list is not publicly
displayedinyahoogroups. It’s prudent to take every precaution.

Discussion of: viruses, or worms.

No jokes, stories, chain letters, attachments, etc., etc.
No "congratulations," "condolences," "I agree," etc. These should be sent
privately.
No advertising.

No political discussions.

No hissing, spitting, extending of claws. Take it offline...or better yet, go
cuddle your cat for awhile until you’re purring again. <G>

Since we are the alternative to a professional writing list the following
subjects are suitable:

Discussions of: Feline Health, Behavior, Welfare, etc. We are here to help each
other and to learn from each other.

Additional Guidelines:

If the topic of an email has changed, please change the subject line to the new
topic.

Never post private email to the list without the permission of the original
sender.

Don’t send email attachments to the list as a whole. If you need to send an
attachment to a member, please ask the individual first.

If a discussion has been moved from the CWA Prolist, briefly summarize the
previous discussion so members new to the discussion can understand it.

No one should forward an e-mail from this list to anyone else, without asking
permission. It's important if the e-mail contains a "thread" with several
responses to a question, that everybody whocontributed should be asked for
permission to forward.

This also applies to using comments, information or anecdotes from this list in
an article or column or on a website.
