Thanks for posting this Debra. I do not belong to or visit ANY of these "social networking" sites. Even if they don't do what Debra described, they *all* put adware and spyware on your computer to keep an eye on what you are doing, and many put malware on your computer -- and that can include worms, trojans, and even keystroke loggers that steal your passwords. I work on the web and am very active on the web, and visit at least 100 sites a day. I do four full-system scans every week, and often do them twice a week. You wouldn't believe the crap (pardon my french) that it finds every time I scan. Just having virus protection will *not* protect you from all that other stuff. I have 4 protection programs monitoring my computer all the time, and I still found a couple trojans and a keystroke logger last night when I did the SpyWare Doctor scan. If you really want to be safe, you should also do full-system scans on your computer at least once a week with at least these four: Ad-Aware, SpyBot, AVG, and Spyware Doctor. The first 3 are free, the latter is about $40 a year, but definitely worth it, it finds things the others do not. But they all look for and find different things, that's why you need more than one. There are just too many bad guys out there now -- especially all those file-sharing sites -- we have to do everything we can to keep our computers safe.
have a great weekend everybody! Michelle

About a month ago I got hoodwinked by a internet scam called tagged.com. It asked me to log on to see the pictures of someone I knew from CWA. In doing so it stole my entire email list and sent it to everyone, and I was not pleased.
Today I received a similar offer that I deleted but maybe some of you may receive it.
It asks you to log on to view someone's profile. So even if you know the person, don't look. it's probably another situation that will swipe your email list.
