He's a rabbit, not a ferret, not a dove.
This fine fellow is Thpotted Thumper American Checkered Rabbit , though he is
not a giant, but young and medium-sized. (at least, at the present)
He had wandered into the garage of his finders who included two school-aged
girls but whose mother told them they could not keep the fellow. He is (and was)
extremely tame, allowing either of the two girls to pick him up, draped on their
arms and they were naturally sorry to see him be turned in to this Sanctuary
although much relieved that we refuse to kill anyone without a veterinarian(we
have three vets in three animal hospitals whom we trust in) saying it may be
needed for the animals' own sake of comfort.
If you would care to adopt this gentle fellow, he is here at the Sanctuary,
comfortably indoors where he spends part of his day running about in an entire
room all to himself away from the dog and the cats and can thumb his paw at the
ferrets in their own cages. His adoption fee is $25.00 or for him with this fine
cage he is in (part of the time), $35.00
