The Annual MFTHBA Membership Meeting was called to order by the incumbent
President, Mike Owens at 7:15 pm. There were between 95 and 100 people
present.
The minutes of last years meeting were read.
The incumbent President, Mike Owens spoke to the membership.
A representative of the CPA firm where the ballots were sent, Matthew James
CPA, was called upon to read the results of the election.
The representative told those present that the first ballots a total of 106
were sent September 8th to those in foreign countries.
A total of 7,034 ballots were sent later (all on the same date) to those
members in the USA.
Seven ballots were mailed afterward due to members calling in who had not
received their ballots for some reason.
Ballots had to be received by Thrusday, 4:30 pm to be counted.
Of these ballots 2,364 were returned which is approximately 1/3 of the
membership. Approximately 2/3 of the membership did not return ballots.
There were 27 votes which were not able to be counted.
After the results were read the new president, Mike Owens, asked if there
were any questions. Max Phillips asked if we would be given financial
statements. He thought that the members should be given a financial statement
at the meeting. Mike Owens said that he didn't have them. Neither Floyd
Hurst nor the executive director were at the meeting.
Another man asked what the result of the meeting concerning the judges of the
Celebration were. the membership was informed that the BOD had voted to
suspend for life the three judges who had been protested and said that these
were Bill Stringer, Vicki Trussell, and Beverley Berry.
Yet another man asked if this was a regular meeting and was told yes. His
comment was a question that if this was a regular meeting why weren't the
financial statements provided?
After this there were no more questions and the meeting was adjourned.
