Netiquette on the freeflight list

Goals

This list is for the discusion of all aspects of training parrots and other birds for free flight outdoors and indoors. With particular emphasis on training for and living with fully flighted parrots.

We have a very broad vision about what is flight related. Off topic discussions happen from time to time, but we try to keep things flight related. Sometimes we will ask you to take a discussion off list, if we find it takes to much space, or opinions are too far apart.

Moderating

Please refrain from insults and ad hominem arguments. If this happens, people will be put on moderation until the discussion cools down. People who are put on moderation on a regular base will be asked to leave the list. The moderator team decides independently about what is considered a personal attack.

We can not look into the future so we can not prevent all personal attacks. But we will try to nail them down as soon as possible. Also, we love deep discussions, different opinions. We feel this is a good way to advance the list knowledge. If you don’t like the "heat" in some of these discussion then maybe this list is not a good place for you. We don’t get paid for moderation, we don’t even like to do it. And when we moderate, it is a team decision and we’ll try to keep the time on moderation as brief as possible.. Think about this before you accuse us of taking sides.
