Kaelyn
Kaelyn is a very active workin' girl and very much a free spirit.
She's always on the move and definitely needs a family that can keep
up with her. She is more of the working lines of the Australian
Shepherd. She needs to be kept occupied or she will find things to do
to keep herself occupied. She is also very creative in finding work
for herself, which may not be what you have in mind for her to be
doing. She is very interested in training and loves to show off her
tricks. She also does well in learning new ones. This will help with
her energy as it gives her an outlet to use it in a positive way.

She's also very affectionate and loves to play. She's always happy
and is always smiling. She does need to be crated when left alone as
she is a free thinker and loves to find new things to do to keep
herself occupied. She will get into everything as she is very curious
to see exactly what everything is and how she can play with it. She
also had not had a lot of guidance in her life before she came into
rescue. She truly felt that she was free to do how she wished and did
not have to listen to anybody. She would bark back at us when we
corrected her and needed a very firm (not harsh) and consistent home
to help show her more appropriate ways to behave. We had to implement
a "zero tolerance" policy. She would get up onto the counter so that
she could see what you are doing and would attempt to take food off
the counter, even with you standing there.

She has made so much progress with allowing us to correct her and is
getting better at knowing what is and is not acceptable behavior. She
is learning that we don't jump up on people when greeting them and
that we don't need to get into the fridge every time it gets opened.
She shows more improvement every day. She is deaf and responds well
to signals.
