RACHEL PAGE ELLIOTT FEATHERQUEST LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Board of Directors of the Golden Retriever Club of America has established the
Rachel Page Elliott Featherquest Lifetime Achievement Award.
This award will be presented at the annual meeting of the GRCA to an individual

others in such areas as knowledge of structure, health, breeding and training.
This award should also serve to encourage others to develop their talents in a
similar way and to share their knowledge with the dog fancy.

Good evening.
Earlier this spring, your GRCA Board of Directors formed an Ad Hoc Committee to
review the GRCA OS/OD requirements and how they relate to the GRCA Code of
Ethics.
The committee, which is made up of GRCA members in good standing, is now seeking
your input on the topic. The survey contains 10 questions regarding the OS/OD
program – the last question is a comment box, providing a space for opinions to
be shared in a free form way, different than the structured input of the other 9
questions.

Passed by Res. 09-66
Dear Members of the GRCA and GRCA Board:
The 2012 GRCA Nominating Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank
the members who submitted their names and resumes for consideration for
nomination to the GRCA Board of Directors – each of these individuals had
outstanding qualifications. If future nominating committees have such choices,
the GRCA has a bright future indeed! We hope those not selected will contribute
to the success of the GRCA by volunteering in other capacities in the coming
year. Additionally, the Committee further hopes that the members not chosen for

DEADLINE FOR OS/OD REVIEW SURVEY is FRIDAY, APRIL 27
Thanks in advance if you've already taken the OS/OD Review Survey; the Ad Hoc
Committee has received quite a number of responses!
If you haven't yet participated, the survey deadline is Friday, April 27, at 5
pm CST.
As a follow-up to previous information, the GRCA Board has not taken a position
or made a decision about this topic at this time; the Committee was formed in
response to requests from the membership. This is why it's vitally important to
complete the questionnaire so the Ad Hoc Committee may process your responses
and report to the Board at the National this year.
Last summer and fall, the GRCA Board received concerns from the membership about
underaged breedings and the "Get" from those underaged breedings helping to
qualify dogs/bitches for the OS/OD designation. These GRCA members requested the
Board look into their concerns. At the board meeting at the 2011 National, the
Board voted to form an Ad Hoc Committee to consider this topic, and review the
OS/OD as it relates to the Code of Ethics. It was also established that the
current OS/OD point scale WOULD NOT be addressed.
Any additional questions may be directed to the Committee Chairman Kurt Macauley
or to the two board liaisons, Leslie Blythe and Cathy Story.
