Can you make your horse smarter?
Allowing Mo to think definitly makes him much more responive and enjoyable. For
instance riding around here at home I could feel him feeling ho hum about the
whole thing. I'd also been having difficulty getting him to head to the back of
his pasture. Mostly due to the bugs as it's closer to the woods. Tonight I
first set up cones, and armed myself with treats. I could feel Eeyore turning
into Pooh, as we rode about touching cones, thank heavens Tigger didn't show
up LOL. He had so much fun heading out to each cone to touch them. He was so
into the cones his whoa wasn't 100%, so will be working on those more again.
After we unsaddled I added "pick up your toys", so we went around with him
picking up each cone to give me. Oh, and he forgot all about bugs!!!! I have
to say that Mo reaching back for his treats, makes his being much more supple,
and he's figured out we rotate which side the treat comes from as well.
I think we both had more fun.
Happy 4th everyone.
