This is true.
A bunch of my Yellows were involved in Inte's feather testing back then.
He called to my attention the dark hash markings on the wing feathers.
I truly 'think' that in the beginning there was a rush in USA to sell the
then Am.Yellow .
When bred to Yellow, AKA European Pastel, it does produce Green birds.
At least in my Aviary it did.
In the beginning that caused much confusion amongst some 'breeders' here.
Especially those who were sold splits that never produced Yellow birds
because they did not know
what they had or how to breed it.

Terry are you working on a new book or a supplement, as so much has come
about in the last decade ?

I can imagine that. But according to their calculations, if you cross one dilute parrotlet with one yellow (am.) parrotlet you'll get 100% green babies split...

Hi Dilson, I just googled the American yellow and in wikipeidia it lists it as a suffused and the European yellow as dilute so that would explain everything. ...

Dilson When I wrote my genetics book (about a decade ago now) the various Dilute and similar mutations were not well defined. At least three different...
