Description

This group is for K9 Nose Work® enthusiasts in Columbia, Luzerne, Montour, Lycoming, Northumberland and Union counties in PA, who have attended at least one 6-week “K9 Nose Work® Basics/Introduction to Nose Work” AND one 6-week "Intermediate K9 Nose Work®" group class, or have been pre-approved by the moderator. Handler/dog teams from other areas who meet the above requirements are of course always welcome!

The K9 nose work sessions are based on the K9 Nose Work® program, developed by Ron Gaunt, Amy Herot and Jill-Marie o'Brien. Please check out www.k9nosework.com and www.nacsw.net for more information.

Our “Nose Work Practice Group” meets approx. once a month. Locations will be determined and announced through this group. The poll function will be used to determine the number of attendees per session.

You are expected to keep track of your dog's progress, have a plan and goal for your training session in mind and actively participate by helping find suitable practice locations and environments, setting up hides and providing feedback and support for your fellow students during the practice sessions.

Please note that these are PRACTICE sessions. You will be working with your dog based on the training level you have reached, i. e. Basics and Intermediate (containers, interiors, exteriors, vehicles), Intro to Odor (all environments, paired with Birch/Anise/Clove, depending on your level), Odor only (all environments, mostly odor only), etc.

If you wish to move forward in your dog's nose work training or have any questions or comments, please contact Silke at contact@herocanineconsulting.com about upcoming group classes or for private training sessions.

Please download the waiver in the "Files" section and bring it with you to your first session.

Happy sniffin'!
