Greetings Everyone!
A few announcements.
1)I will be attending the NY REPTILE EXPO in WHITE PLAINS on July
18,
2004. I am looking forward to meeting some interesting people and
perhaps buying another huge enclosure for my herproom. I will most
likely be there for most of the day. If any of you are in the area
and plan on attending, email me so we can all meet up and enjoy the
day! Photos will be uploaded to the group from that expo later in
the
month.
2)New Summer Photos uploaded in the following folders...
TEGUS
WATERDRAGON
BEARDED DRAGONS
PERSONAL
LACERTA
BALL PYTHON
OKEETEE CORN
ALBINO CORN
WESTERN HOGNOSE
Many photos taken outdoors this month! Last chance to see part of my
old yard :(
As usual all the new photos are marked JULY ( I know it's June but
we
are close enough) and are in the first slides of each group.
I have also added links to the links section, including:
*Bob MacCarger's new super bulbs (if you care, care this much)
*The IIS (please visit and join today)
*The UVB Meter Group at Yahoo (free info that's worth a million)
*New Feeder's at Reptile Direct (guaranteed lowest prices)
*Rattlesnake RoundUp Link
3)For those of you who own reptariums, please either do not use them
for UVB loving reptiles or cut away the area under the bulb and
replace with WIDER mesh, chicken wire or wide metal cloth. It does
not allow enough UVB through for your reptiles and should not be
used
as a sunning cage (unless you have no choice). I suggest everyone
buy
a UVB meter and test whatever screen or mesh they use to ensure
proper UVB penetration. Meters are now available to the general
public at Bob MacCarger's site...link is in the LINKS section under
SUPER UVB and BOBMAC's BULBS. This is the best husbandry item I have
ever purchased....with my temp guns running a close second. Temp
guns
are also available at Bob's site for $10 less then I paid at other
sites.
4) THANK YOU to everyone who helped BW SMITH with the rattlesnake
roundup rescue this year. He is making strides in educating the
public, helping the animals, and rehabilitating the snakes purchased
that day. Like BW says---small steps :-)
5) I will be moving in the month of August and packing in the month
of July so don't be suprised if I am scarce for a while during this
time. My new home is being built and is scheduled to be done August
15th. Please visit RedTailBoa.net for any snake advice during this
time, and for most diurnal lizard advice I would recommend the Meter
Group at Yahoo.
Links are in the links section.
I hope your Summer is going GREAT!!!!!
