I will add these to other files I have and share all the
natural "critter" repellants in a text file that I will upload.
Flea Repellant for indoors or under "cover" outdoors:
put some Joy Lemon dishwashing liquid in some water on a white plate.
This recipe works wonderfully and
can use the excess as a great marinade for chicken or fish.
1Large lemon ( the larger the rinde the better)
1Tbsp of Rosemary ( crushed)
1 drop of Pennyroyal Oil
2 Cups of Hot boiling Water
1 Glass bowl
Saran wrap or other plastic wrap.
slice lemon with rinde, paper thin, add rosemary and P. Oil;
Pour two cups of freshly boiled water over them, in glass bowl,
cover and let steep overnight.
Strain in cheese cloth or fine strainer and add to your
favorite spritz bottle. Keep stored in refrigerator.
Repels: Mosquitos, chigger/gnats, fleas and ticks.
a listmember lives on a lake and this has proven to work well.
For dogs, she uses it; but it tends to leave a lot of residue in the coat,
so she now uses apple cider vinegar diluted with vingar in a spray bottle
and drenches them good.
a great recipe for ears, too:
1 part applecider vinegar to 2 parts alcohol
has proven to work wonderful for yeasty ears and ear mites,
also infectious ears with hemotomas starting on outer ear flaps.

Another Remedy, from one of my files:
Step 1
Make a mixture of 1/2 ounce of almond oil or olive oil and
400IU vitamin E in a dropper bottle. Warm to body temperature and
put about 1/2 dropperful in the ear, massaging the ear canal well
for a minute or so. Let your pet shake its head then gently clean out
the opening with cotton wool swabs. Do not use Q-tip type applicators
as they can compact material already in the ear canal. Apply oil every
other day for 6 days. Then let ears rest for 3 days (The oil mixture
will smother any mites and start a healing process)
Step 2
Using a tincture of the herb Yellow Dock, dilute it with water 9 drops to
1 tablespoon of water. Treat the ears with this mixture, as descibed above,
once every 3 days for 6 weeks. Ear mite eggs are quite resistant to just
about anything after they have already hardened, that is why a 6 week period
of treatment is recommended. The eggs will continue to hatch out in cycles
and if medicine is present for 6 continuous weeks (medicine administered
will last for 4 days) there will be no more eggs present.
You may need to thoroughly shampoo the head and ears (and the tip of
the tail) because mites can leave ears, they do like to go for night
trips to check out the terrain, and might crawl back in after treatment.
The tip of the tail may have a few mites from when it is curled near
the head. Make a tea infusion of yelloe dock and use as a final rinse.
Generally a healthy animal will have less problems with ear mites,
so improving the diet will help in both prevention and recovery.
Feeding a natural diet will improve overall health and reduce the
likelihood of frequent parasitic infection.
Supplementing with garlic is especially helpful.
