What the new vet explained is that it is acutally a controversy whether they get
it or not. There have actually been rabbits that were bred for diabetic
research where their pancreasis didn't work so they didnt' have any insulin and
the rabbits lived a normal life. She feels that since rabbits have such high
glucose to begin with that a high glucose is an incidentel finding. She said
although there has been really rare cases were insulin has helped it is very
unlikely.
