Welcome to the October 2005 issue of the House Rabbit Network’s e-Notes.

Our Yankee Candle and Pampered Chef fundraisers raised a total of $1,500 which will go a long way to help the rabbits. Thank you to all who participated in these annual fundraisers.

Come join us at the following events:

Oct 16 - Cape Ann Animal Aid DogDay, Gloucester, MA 11-3

Oct 22 - Boston Vegetarian Food Festival, Reggie Lewis Center, Boston. 10-6

Oct 29 – Woburn Petco, 11:00-2:00

Saturday, October 22nd is Make a Difference Day. This very important day is designed for people who are looking to do a one time volunteer effort or collection drive, but this is also a great way to bring our need to light and encourage people to make a difference in the lives of rabbits all year long.

Pamper your rabbit on Nov 6th at Especially For Pets in Medway, MA with a rabbit massage. Lynne Flannagan, a certified small animal masseuse, has generously offered to do a benefit for HRN between the hours of 12:00-3:00.  The massage is $10 for 10 minutes and Lynne is generously donating all the money to HRN. Be sure to stop by our education table for free literature and lots of bunny talk.

Bunny Of the Month – Thomas

Thomas is a big, 10 pound boy who is part of the Williamsport meat farm rescue. He loves doing binkies in his exercise pen and acts shy but really loves to be petted. Thomas waits quietly and patiently in his cage for you to let him out to exercise. Every once in a while the devil makes him tip his litterbox on its side so he can play in the wood pellets. He’s a wonderful bun who would love to have a home he can call his own.

You can view Thomas at: http://www.rabbitnetwork.org/adoption/bunofmonth.shtml

The next volunteer’s meeting will be held on October 30th at 2:00 P.M. in Wilmington. For directions, please email info@...

We are still searching for people who would like to volunteer for:

Craft table items and sales help in Woburn

Silent Auction Coordinator

Bun transportation for spays/neuters

Temporary foster homes

Thank you for your support of the rabbits.
