Welcome to the September e-bulletin from the House Rabbit Network!
How often do you search online? Now every time you do a search, you can earn
money for HRN! Instead of using google, yahoo or the other search engines, go
to www.goodsearch.com. Type in House Rabbit Network in the "I'm Supporting" box,
and search away! We get a penny for every search you do. With all the HRN supporters searching it can add up to quite a bit of money over the year.
Thanks to all who participated in the Yankee Candle fundraiser. We raised over
$1400 for HRN! Candles should be arriving in a couple of weeks.
This month we are going to feature Rollo. Former bunny of the month, current foster
rabbit. September marks one year that she has been in foster care. She seems
to be having a hard time finding her forever
home, and she is such a great bun!
She is friendly, loves attention, loves to play, and has perfect litter box habits. It
is amazing that someone hasn't scooped her up by now.
The September bunny of the month is Lea!
Hello! My name is Lea. I am a 1 year old spayed female mini lop who weighs
7.25 lbs. Unfortunately, I was abandoned and found by animal control, but I am
in a loving foster home now! I have my foster mom trained well, too! Every
morning I hit my food dish against the side of the cage to wake her up, and she
feeds me! Can you believe humans can be so highly trainable?! I love to come
out of my hutch and hop around and play with my toys. I even do little hopping
dances when I am very happy! I never ever bite, and I LOOOVE to be petted.
I’ll even flop over on my side to let you pet my
whole body! Sometimes my foster
mom tries to hold me, and I tolerate it for a little while, but then I get squirmy. I’d
much rather be petted. My foster mother has been trying to see what foods I like,
and most foods I will chomp down very quickly. Please do not feed me tomatoes,
chicory, bok choy, or turnip greens. I don’t like them very much. Some of my
favorite foods include romaine, green leaf lettuce, collard greens, kale, carrot tops,
carrots, peppers, and small bits of apple and banana. I am also VERY well litter
box trained, which comes in handy when my foster mom lets me hop around the
house- she doesn’t have to clean up my messes. All in all, I am a very happy, healthy, and well adjusted rabbit who is patiently waiting for the right permanent home.
