Hello and welcome to the May e-bulletin from HRN!
Watch Channel 7 News "Protecting Your Pet" series on Mondays. Either
Monday May 12th or 19th, HRN will be featured talking about rabbits and
their care!
Do you know that HRN also has a newsletter, Rabbit Tracks? It is published
three times per year and mailed to our membership. Rabbit Tracks features
articles on rabbit care and behavior. If you would like to receive the
newsletter, please consider signing up for a membership! It only costs $15
a year and your donation supports HRN's mission. Most of the funds are
used to provide care for our rabbits. HRN relies on donations from the
public to support our mission. You can join by mailing in a check or by
using paypal online. The membership application can be accessed online:

HRN also provides medical care for all of our rabbits. We recently took
in a rabbit, Bailey, with a severely broken leg. He was rushed to the
veterinary hospital where he required extensive surgery and an external
pin. We are optimistic that he will completely recover! To date his vet
bills have totaled $1170. Can you contribute to Bailey's fund?
Bailey is an adorable 3 month old mini-lop who is white with brown
spots. You can view pictures, and contribute to his fund, here:

May's bun of the month is Lana! Lana is a sweet bunny that needs someone
to have a little patience with her. Once Lana trusts you, she is the
sweetest and most loving bunny. Lana has trust issues because she was
rescued from a group of kids meaning to throw her out of a car! She has
come a long way. She is very cute with one ear always flopped down. She
likes to be held, and will sit in your lap FOREVER if you just keep
petting her! She loves to eat! Any kind of greens, but Kale especially is
her favorite. Lana has the makings of an excellent free range bunny. She
isn’t destructive, and she has perfect litter box habits. She bonds best
with one main caretaker. She likes everyone when she is out of her cage,
but in her cage she can be protective of her space, litter box and food.
For this reason she would be best in a home with no kids and an
experienced rabbit owner that can understand her emotional needs. With
love and patience, she usually forms a strong bond with her main
caretaker. (cleans cage, feeds, etc.) Lana is a bunny, that with a little
understanding has the capability of being a very rewarding and loving
house pet.
Need more of a bunny fix? Check out HRN's blog! Foster homes post pictures
and stories about buns for adoption, along with pictures from rescues and
baby bunnies that have come into our care.
