Welcome to the March e-bulletin of the House Rabbit Network!
IMPORTANT CHANGE TO THE SHAW'S RECEIPT PROGRAM:
Effective March 1, instead of mailing in receipts, Shaw's now links
organizations to your Shaw's Rewards Card. So no more collecting
receipts and mailing them in -- we will automatically get checks.
The bad news is that only purchases on Tues., Wed. and Thurs.
will count. (Other days of the week won't, so shop in the middle of
the week!) It is important to note that in order for HRN to benefit,
you must sign up on the Shaw's website and link HRN to your
Rewards Card.
To sign up for the new program, go to
www.shaws.com/neighborhoodrewards
Click on the link for Shoppers and enter your Rewards
Card number and your phone number.
Next, click on My Account, then Add an Organization.
Enter HRN's number: 49001018209.
If you don't have our number handy, you can click on
"Find an Organization." Just enter MA for the state -- they
have Woburn misspelled, so if you enter the city it won't
find us (we are trying to get that fixed).
Click Add, and then click on My Account to verify that
you see HRN listed.
Any questions, let us know. Thanks for your support!
The Yankee Candle Spring 2009 Fundraising event is going on now and
will end March 13. HRN receives 40% of the profit on every product
sold, so this is a wonderful way to raise money for the bunnies while at
the same time finding great gifts for your family and friends. And don't
forget Mother's Day on May 10! You can view the Spring 2009 Fundraising
brochure online at:

information about available rabbits; however, rabbits are never
adopted out on-site.
Easter is now approaching. Sadly, this is a time when many baby
rabbits are purchased on impulse and then abandoned a few months later
at shelters (or worse, released into the wild where they most likely
perish). Please do what you can to educate the public and encourage
them not to buy rabbits. HRN has flyers covering the reality of Easter
Bunnies that you can print out and post at libraries, cafes, and
other places.

March's bun of the month is Jackson!
Jackson is a very handsome little fluffball. He is approximately 1
year old. Jackson was rescued, together with mother Isabel, aunty Maddy
and siblings Franklin, Monroe, Madison and Penny, in a law enforcement
case. He has spent his entire life in HRN foster care and is looking for a
home of his own. He is a little shy at the beginning, but will warm up
rather quickly. Once he knows you, he will melt down for pets and
follow you around the house. He is very playful and his crazy binkies
will make you laugh. He does a “happy dance” every time he comes out
of his cage. He has a stuffed bunny friend he grooms all the time. A
little quirky, but really cute. I am sure he wouldn’t mind exchanging
the stuffed bunny friend for a real one. Jackson is a Jersey Wooly lop
mix. His hair grows really long. He needs to be brushed daily. His
ears stand up most of the time, but hang down when he is in a bad
mood. Jackson has perfect litter box habits and doesn’t chew anything.
His foster mom gives him free run around the bedroom when she is home.
He never destroys anything. He is also very clean in his cage. With
food he is a little on the picky side. His favorite treats are papaya
and cranberry. He loves his hay.
Love to look at rabbit pictures? We have a handful of 2009 HRN
calendars left and have discounted them to $5 to sell them off.
The calendar is professionally printed and you'll love to have
pictures of HRN bunnies hanging on your wall all year long. You
can preview the months and order online on our website, or you
can print out our mail-order form and pay by check.
