Welcome to the April e-bulletin of the House Rabbit Network!

Easter is almost here! Sadly, this is a time when many baby
rabbits are purchased on impulse and then abandoned a few
months later at shelters (or worse, released into the wild where
they most likely perish). Please do what you can to educate the
public and encourage them not to buy rabbits. HRN has flyers
covering the reality of Easter Bunnies that you can print out and
post at libraries, cafes, and other places.

You can also stream from their web site http://www.am1270wtsn.com/

Many thanks to everyone who participated for making our Yankee
Candle Spring Fundraiser such a success! We generated $3,856 in

IMPORTANT CHANGE TO THE SHAW'S RECEIPT PROGRAM:
Shaw's now links organizations to your Shaw's Rewards Card. No
more collecting receipts and mailing them in -- we will automatically
get checks. The bad news is that only purchases on Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday will count (other days of the week won't, so shop in
the middle of the week). It is important to note that in order for HRN
to benefit, you must sign up on the Shaw's website and link HRN to
your Rewards Card.

To sign up for the new program, go to www.shaws.com/neighborhoodrewards
Click on the link for Shoppers and enter your Rewards
Card number and your phone number.
Next, click on My Account, then Add an Organization.
Enter HRN's number: 49001018209.
If you don't have our number handy, you can click on
"Find an Organization." Just enter MA for the state -- they
have Woburn misspelled, so if you enter the city it won't
find us (we are trying to get that fixed).
Click Add, and then click on My Account to verify that
you see HRN listed.
Any questions, let us know. Thanks for your support!

April's bun of the month is Pepsi!
Pepsi is quite comfortable in her environment. Although she is still not
used to being held or picked up, she loves to have her head rubbed and
being pet! She has a major sweet tooth; her favorite treats are bananas
and soft baking raisins. Pepsi is so cute as she waits by her cage door
every morning for her little sweet treats! She will eat apples happily
too, and carrots as well as lettuce but only when all the fruit options
are gone. Pepsi is quite the "verbal" bunny, making cute little binky
noises when grooming herself and hopping around. When you put your
hand in her litterbox, she grunts a little. She's very sweet, but very
energetic and mischievous as well; always the curious bunny looking for
new places to crawl into, new things to chew on, and, overall, be a
little spoiled furball!

Thank you for your support of the buns!
