The reason I wanted to start this group, is because of a bird my husband brought home from his work. It'd fallen from the very high rafters up above his work area, and it couldn't fly and was just sitting there, helpless. My husband told me, he'd seen several of the men he works with stomp the baby birds because they were baby pigeons. This broke my heart, and I decided he should bring them all home to me and I'd "grow them up". Several successes have been had raising these birds who would've been killed because of the nonsence notion that they were pests. I called a rehab bird person in another town and asked them how and what to do to raise the little pin feathered baby, and was told that I'd be better off just leaving it alone and letting nature take it's course, because pigeons are "trash" birds, and are a pest and are "like rats, just nasty"...well, I got off the phone with him, and decided, if God created pigeons, I would care for them as he would want me to.
Wheather you've found a baby bird, or sick or injured bird, here is the place you can get info on how to help the birds you find I have rehabilitated several birds, from hand feeding to adult care. BUT I want to learn anything any tips, success stories, any advice you can give here will be absorbed and put to good use! If you see an injured bird, and can devote some time to helping it, this is a place to find out how. I have a thirst for knowledge on how to help and experience to help you help these little creatures... I also foster-care most types of birds, and love to help all God's creatures. If this is your passion, join up and lets learn from each other make a difference togather!
