Welcome to K9Auto-Immune Support. This group has been set up to support owners of dogs with autoimmune conditions and to talk about how to deal with the rollercoaster rides when caring for our sick dogs. We offer our stories and advice, but please bear in mind that we are not vets or doctors. We are a group of dog owners, who have had years of hands-on experience with various immune-mediated problems (Addison's Disease, Hypothyroidism, Auto Immune Haemolytic Anaemia (AIHA/IMHA), Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia, Masticatory Muscle Myositis - to name a few) and we are happy to share our gained knowledge, whilst we continue to learn from each other.

Our aim is to support the dog and the owner and to provide a life line for those who are finding it difficult to cope alone. Please feel free to ask any questions concerning general health issues with your dog. We may not always have the answers immediately, but - between us - we will do our best to find them.

The photo is of George Richards (22/07/92 - 10/02/07). George was diagnosed first with Addison’s Disease, at the age of 2˝, and a couple of years later with Hypothyroidism. He is a prime example of how a dog can live a full and happy life with these conditions, given the appropriate treatment, and – without question – the most tender loving care of Ria & John Richards, by whom he was treasured beyond words. George was a true gentleman, in every sense of the word; his memory lives on in all the other Addisonian dogs helped by Ria’s experiences with her beautiful boy.
