This is a group combined of former members of FKC, friends of Kern County Shelter animals and BakShelterTalk, Bakersfield Shelter Talk. The purpose of this group is to aid community efforts to save the lives of our shelter animals and homeless dogs. We are a caring group of people who want to make a difference for the many animals who have no voice. The Kern County Shelter euthanizes 70% of the animals entering the shelter, while we work hard to save as many lives as possible. If you care about our animals and want to aid in the reduction of unwanted animals, please join our efforts. This cute boy here is Buddy. I rescued him from the shelter and transported him to a foster. Only days after I took him, he died. This was because Kern County Animal Control (KCAC)did not release him at the time they were supposed to by law and he became a statistic to the disease in the shelter.
