If you're interested in joining the LA Bee Rescue group, you must include with your request:
• Your actual name
• References to mentor beekeepers in our group who you've worked with in the past
If you haven't yet worked with one of our mentors, you need to introduce yourself at one of our monthly meetings, which are held the last Sunday of every month in Atwater Village. For specific information, go to
BackwardsBeekeepers.com and click on "next meeting" in the top menu.
Please understand that as a member of this group you'll be representing the Backwards Beekeepers to the public. Bee rescues can be complicated, challenging, and occasionally dangerous. In order to admit you to the group, you'll need to demonstrate:
• Ability to work with bees calmly and with expertise.
• Understanding of our goals as bee educators.
• A calm and friendly demeanor when dealing with the public, especially in situations where people are unfamiliar with and/or terrified of bees.
